"Hero" Talents need to go

I think it they were interested in fun entirely they wouldn’t balance this nonesport game around esports first. I agree though I’d very much like things to be designed more around fun more like they were before Mythic raiding and M+ came about that forced people to become even sweatier and well perhaps less patient with mistakes.

Only thing I can think of is put a separate progression system for both tied to a type of reknown system that improves player power just for Mythic raiding and M+ alone. But that might leave a lot behind that now have to grind out another system just to play and likely be very unpopular.

Anyway I’d be interested in what you’re talking about but also with fun balance to the numbers as well in the talents you’re proposing. Overall I just want it to be less restrictive and more fun all around but that won’t happen.

Yea i mainly do delves and the spec I want to play in an off meta soul harvester build that pushes instant casts and implosion damage (cause who doesn’t want to blow up the little fel-rats).

The result was a machine gun demon bolt, implosion and hand of Gul’dan monster that is a blast to play.

However, in delves it’s impossible to keep pet aggro with this set up as most of the damage done is player damage now. And once the fel guard loses threat it’s nigh impossible to get it back.

So I need to do the diabolist build in high tier delves. Not my preference but it is what it is.

I was all in until this line. Hero talents were a joke. We all knew they were just a tree add on. We have come all the way from vanilla to have the trees and the skill system make less sense than the original game.

But, seriously, skins? You want to look the part and not be the part?

Hero talents most likely disappear after World Soul Saga.

I think a fun idea would’ve been more hybridization, things like Mage where you can be Arcane Fire or Frost, something that wasn’t done for most classes and specs.

Being able to choose ranged or melee on BM and SV would’ve perhaps garnered them much more positive feedback, but as is the talents don’t feel like they add much overall.

Hear hear! But if you really want traction, most of the devs have X accounts where they mostly interact with posters.

Hey now, I love machine gun spell enhance shaman, and super power fisting monky power!

Tinker should be their own class, divorced from hunters.

OP; I agree. We all expected Hero Talent to be ‘spec skins’. It was a truly missed opportunity, resulting in only further complicating balancing and FoTM cookie-cutting.

Nobody outside of a small echo chamber on the forums thinks hero/class skins are a good idea.

This will never not be a thing. Blizzard could remove all talents tomorrow and there would still be cookie-cutter builds for people to follow lol

I preferred talent rows, personally. That way I didnt have to take 3 things I didnt want to get to the one I do.

That’s true… but with that being said, it was far easier to balance fewer talents.

No not really confusing for new and or learning players especially since most peoples just copy paste already set trees. Fun is subjective and if your not having fun then that is a YOU problem and not the trees.

Or just change their name to Peasant Talents. cause they don’t make me feel like much of a hero.

I like hero talents, but I am not fond of the fact that they are not mathematically equal. I’d like to play certain things, and not feel punished for taking the “suboptimal” path.

So Blizzard needs to throw anybody that isn’t strictly “casual” to the wolves? What is casual and what isn’t casual?

Hero Talents as a system are pretty damn casual-friendly. Are they all as visually distinct as I’d like? No, but most of them alter gameplay and do have some visual components. They’re fine and will be expanded on in the future.

You’re asking for class kit glyphs. Bit different than something mechanical like this.

They needed to get rid of either the talent requirements to unlock the next tier or get rid of the actual connecting branches.

As soon as I saw it had both it was like “oh, so I’m just forced to pick everything basically.”

In the interviews regarding hero talents, they already said they are going to be a core function of your class. They aren’t going anywhere and aren’t just a temporary flavor for this expansion, this is part of our class identities now.

They removed Pack Leader? 🫨

pretty much lol.
I also dont like how they tend to move things around and what was easier and quicker to get is moved to a more annoying spot on the tree.
Well, they did make some changes for the better for demo a while back so that was good.
Still preferred talent rows tho.
