Not counting the CTRL binds or the 5, thatâs 29 keybinds for 31 abilities (not counting Hand of Reckoning or Absolution, since I practically never use the former and the latter is an out-of-combat ability).
All abilities that require a target are macroâd for mouseover targetting.
Potions are on the right-side bar and are clicked.
Also, normally I would not have Daybreak talented, but I kind of have to due to the Tier Set.
And this is just Holy Paladin; there are more egregious specs out there.
The thing for me, at least speaking on a personal level, is that there arenât too many specs with an overabundance of interaction bloat. Most specs function in a pretty straightforward manner from my experience, and most of them are sort of in a âpick it up and goâ state as far as actual time-to-learn for rotational efficacy goes. Iâd have more complaints about raw ability bloat on some specs than actual interaction bloat.
Utility, well, thatâs a whole other discussion, and I have a big olâ chip on my shoulder over how Blizzard handles utility in WoW. Bad enough that I wonât play my DK anymore which I almost exclusively mained from Wrath until DF.
I wouldnât mind reading over a few if you point out the specs- I can probably get what you mean, but whether itâs me being distracted or on a weird sleep schedule and being foggy I canât recall what other specs I felt were similarly troubled as post-rework Outlaw currently is.
Interestingly enough, they actually went the opposite direction with Discipline and finally simplified it down. Then Frost DK serves as an example of them having gone too far in the direction of simplification.
My experience with even frost dk is the are multiple buffs to track, procs, 12+ key binds, a 14 step rotation, 2 trinket slots, consumables, external variables. Sure you can play easily, but if your not tracking everything, you are sub par. Seems extremely new person friendly and not bloated at all. Add in the multitude of trash guides and resources to build trees, a crappy simulator and now another set of talents and voila, this is so simple martha Stewart could make a show about it.

*M+ Build Only
** Raid Build Only
So thatâs 36/34 depending on build. Even my builds for windwalker still have 30 binds. My pres raid build sitting at 32 and mythics at 33, whereas my aug raid build only has 27 and mythics at 28.
Because entering stealth does not reset the cd of between the eyes, thatâs what overcomplicates the spec.
After this tier set is done they need to increase the proc rate of opportunity again, go back to 100% for hidden opportunity, increase the proc rate on count the odds, and re introduce dreadblades.
Right now, crackshot is anger inducing, thatâs the first thing they need to solve.
Oh weâre talking keybinds? My Mistweaver has 40 with 5 relatively optional buttons (Taunt, Resurrection, Transcendence + Transfer, Lightning). The rest are guaranteed to be pushed at any given time.
Thereâs also racials that take up two buttons: WotF and Cannibalize.
Any button not key bound that you have a chance of pushing at any given time is you limiting your ability to perform. And M+ and Mythic require the highest level of performance.
I should also note fat fingering is the worst. I have roughly a 2% chance to fat finger with certain buttons/bindings. Itâs buttcheeks.
Customizations are not progression, theyâre rewards. Class skins would be cool, and I want to see spell effect reskins. But those are not rewards people will want going from 60 to 70. Those should be rewards for specific quests or from items or puzzles. Not everyone cares about spell skins but most people want to feel like theyâre getting a talent every level so they feel like going from 60-70 isnât just an archaic way of gating the game.
Letâs say Iâm playing a hunter, and instead of anything else new, all I get is dark ranger stuff. I donât care about dark ranger customizations at all. What do I get 60-70?
What buffs are you needing to track so carefully, exactly?
Keybinds, well yeah, you have buttons other than your damage rotation. You arenât pressing every button all of the time.
14 step rotation? Frost boils down to (at least currently) pressing Chill Streak on cooldown, using Remorseless with Pillar, using Empower Rune Weapon with Pillar, cramming KM Obliterates into your Pillar window, using Frost Strike to space downtime or get runes back, using Rime procs, and⊠Using Death and Decay situationally for your Pillar windows if thereâs more than one target.
Trinkets are trinkets, theyâve always existed and a majority of the time youâre just pressing them either on cooldown or with your own cooldowns.
Consumables are literally something you use either before a fight, or once in a fight.
External variables? You mean playing the game and executing mechanics as intended?
If youâre looking for a spec to serve as a good example of mental overload, Frost DK ainât it. Frostâs difficulty comes from maintaining uptime and being consistent with your gameplay.
Best thing we can do is to try to minimize the importance of hero talents. I feel like hero talents suffer the same design flaws of azerite armor/covenants.
Worse there is no indication that this is ever green.
