In what way is being able to clean up LFG channels going to diminish server-only PuGs?
Yet I distinctly remember my wife having to queue at the stone as a healer on her druid ( I was a hunter so had no choice )
It was very clear, that addons that help automate gameplay, is things they dont like…
Auto-invites aren’t automating game play anymore than auto bag sorting or gear swapping. For the billionth time, you don’t know what you’re talking about.

There was also quite a bit of this. My ex-wife and I met a guy outside Sunken Temple who was questing, and we’re still friends some 11-12 years later.
But if he had this macro, might he have never talked to us? Just let his add-on find a ST group for him? THAT is my point.

And all I’m asking is how that social network came to be. From what you’ve said so far, it wasn’t anything this addon will interfere with.
If someone doesn’t want to be social, they won’t be social. Addon or not. Despite what people continue to claim here, you can’t force an anti-social person to be social. They just won’t do certain content.
Why though? If he was questing outside Sunken Temple and you were there offering him a group, he wouldn’t need to use the addon. Now maybe he would have found one before you got there, but then he would have talked to and been social with a completely different set of people and you two would have found someone else to run with. It wouldn’t have gotten rid of any social interaction it just would have changed who it was with.

No, I was correcting someone for thinking that LFG didn’t look for tanks and healers back in vanilla.
if you can go afk, and come back and have a fully group with a tank, healer and three dps… a process that in classic, might have you needing to go through and interacting with alot of players, if you at all could get to all channels…
This addon could potentially do this all for you, without the needed social game play, and yes, i think that very much automated…
eitherway, i thoguht you guys dident want autoinvites, since your addon wasent going to have it ?

Yeah, its called “whisper me ‘invite’” and then I walk away and the people get auto-invited without me being there. I did this all the time on my way to dungeons in Vanilla thanks to oRA2.

And the problem isnt that you interact with people and plays the social part, the problem is when its automated, and automatically invites people setting everything up, with no need for whispers or anything…
so f you want a version without autoinvite, why does it matter blizz makes sure we cant do it ?

Dont want the add-on dont download it. You have YOUR genuine Classic experience without forcing your desired gameplay on someone else. I can imagin you are the type of person that would want to duel but make rules like “No heals” or “You cant trap before the duel”

Lets run through this scenario.
You’re a healer, you log in looking to run Mauradon Princess.
You see a group advertising, looking for a healer.
You whisper them and they immediately invite you.
I did that all of the time in vanilla because i was desperate for a healer.
Now in Classic, how are you going to tell the difference between someone who is desperate for a healer and someone using an auto invite addon?

Both people have to have the add-on… to use the add-on…
if its that insignificant, and you dont want autoinvite, why do you care if, blizzard makes sure it cant be abused ?
