going afk, to have a full group auto created for you… sounds like the auto features, they stated last night, is just the type of things they dont want…
or are you now, saying auto invite addons like that is oki ?

If the addon auto invites it needs to be broken. Period.
it dosent matter, if that addon at all work in classic, it needs to be broken so it dosent work at all…
OMG, Dude, how many times do we have to repeatedly over and over and over and over and over point out to all of you THAT AUTO FILLING GROUPS WILL NOT BE IN THE CLASSIC VERSION OF THE ADDON.
FFS go to the author’s discord and read HIS comments about it.
In Retail WoW you can enjoy your game faster. Why are you trying to change Classic into something it’s not? Classic is all about the journey.

We all PvP’d! This is why we show off our PvP Titles. This LFG crap is dumb AF. It already existed, just not automated like it is now. If you take the Human element out of it, it becomes trivial and UN-important.

mhmmm, and listen to what im saying, it dosent matter if you dont add it on your addon, thats not the problem, IF it can be done at all, someone will make a addon that works, and that is the problem… addons that can autoinvite, based on talents, needs to broken so they cant work…
OK. Well this is not one of them so that’s completely pointless to even bring up.
Personally I don’t think spamming LFG or trade is gameplay.
As long as:
- the world stays large (no teleport LFD).
- who you have to group with is limited (No Cross Realms).
then I think the community is solid. AFAIK the Classic version of this addon does not have auto invite (the video is from Retail). But even if it did I think the community has nothing to fear.

Then take it up with THAT addon. ClassicLFG WILL NOT be auto-inviting to groups.
You wouldn’t know the “spirit of Classic” if it bit you in the face. I cannot wait for servers to finally open so I can enjoy the new threads about how this or that thing wasn’t what they remember from private server nonsense, how some new (but not really) add-on is ruining their experience, all to have them either never hit 60 or get there and then by the usual grumbling casual that whines about “muh experience” while doing no content.

Mmmm, so glad the Classic devs confirmed LFG addons were fine. Love seeing the forums so stirred up that they didn’t get their way.
Bartender can also technically do that, so I guess that should be broken too, right?
No? In fact as of the recent interview with Esfand and Tipsout: Project Lead Brian Birmingham had this to say.
TipsOut: Because the game is so old or because it’s coming back after a long break. A lot of people know the mechanics now and it makes things easier. But at the same time, like you said, the addon api is a lot more modern now and people have the tools to make more sophisticated addons than they did back in the day. Possibly addons that trivialize things like in game boss mechanics, or even things like grouping up and being able to group up faster. For addons like this that maybe make the game a little bit too easy, or do things that are not exactly in the spirit of vanilla. Do you guys have any kind of philosophy as to how to address these kinds of addons?
Brian / Omar: The general philosophy is “If it automates gameplay we don’t like it to automate the gameplay for you. If it’s helping you see the layout in a way that makes you feel more comfortable for you to view and respond to; that’s exactly why addons are in the game. To make sure we can make the interface more comfortable for you to read and respond to. Especially for anybody who uses them to help with disabilities and things like that. It’s one of the reasons why we left in color blind mode. What kind of jerks would we be to take that out? And so we really want people to be able to see and experience the game in a way that’s comfortable to them, but we don’t want it to be played for them.
They don’t want the game played for you. And this addon isn’t going to. It’s just making grouping more comfortable.

You will never get it. Why be a part of a community if you can push that magic LFG button. So what if there is no cross realm. You might see people by chance on occasion. That’s not the point. Back in the day you needed to know people. People you could see online and invite to a run. Now with LFR and LFG I can log in and just play like a solo game. No need to know people to ask to join me cause the button does that for me. You don’t NEED people because the button finds you 4 more any time you want. Not what a MMO used to be. I would be more open to LFG than LFR but I don’t want either. They are the beginning of the end.

If it auto forms a group it is playing the game for you. There is no arguing that.

They literally haven’t. Keyword invites and guild/zone/level/class-wide invites are not undue automation. These existed in Vanilla, they’ll exist on Classic.
