Yeah, well the rest of us want to be able to form a group for deadmines while we’re questing in redridge without having to sift through 100 different groups spamming the channel looking for people for SM.
Doubtful. You don’t play retail because you don’t enjoy the gameplay of retail.
Could be their wrist is already sore due to what they have playing in their browser.

It provides convenience and expedience at the cost of interaction and effort.
It reduces the necessity for a channel that the game once had that added to the social aspect and alive feeling of the game.
It turns the human interactivity into a graphical chart.
It makes the world feel smaller, even if it’s just an illusion that more people might be out there looking for a group than actually are, by knowing exactly who and what is looking for a group.

Crucify me if you want, but everything this addon does is already in game, Join the LFG channel and advertise for your group, if you are too LAZY to have someone in a main city to do it. This whole argument comes down to convenience / LAZINESS. Also both those words have very few positive aspects.
Don’t be so glum, Looney Leacher! If you wish hard enough that this addon is against the rules, I’m sure it will be!
What interaction and what effort? It is making a group… what exactly do you think went into making a group in classic?

Why does this mod exist in the first place then?
The interaction is still there. What aren’t you understanding about how the addon works?
YOu have to list your group: The same as typing LFM SM
Someone has to ask you for an invite or list themselves as looking for a group.
Then you either invite them after they ask for an invite, or you invite them from their being listed as looking for a group (the same as right clicking and inviting that rogue that says LFG SM
This changes absolutely NOTHING about the interaction and effort of making a group.
Once again, all it accomplishes is that it’s a filterable graphical representation of /4.
No way, global chat is much less reliable and less instant. It makes group formation actually matter and makes people want to befriend people so that they do not have to pug all the time. Classic LFG can easily make pugging the norm. Pugging is what killed retail wow for most people at its core.
Most guilds are not super great. They become great because people work together and learn the game together. You add LFG and suddenly the best players just assimilate with their raider io’s and god knows what else and elitism follows. I for one can pug in retail with mythic players who are ten times better than people in my guild with my own experience. Why I am even in a guild is a question I ask myself everyday. The fact that this feeling is encouraged is largely due to the ease of access to these players in LFR. LFR in classic will have that same effect making guilds a mere social thing rather than a cultural way of life like it was in classic. We will all be back in Dalaran slapping buttons instead of enjoying the social world of warcraft.
Discord and third party sites are not nearly as perverse and intrusive as a shove it in your face LFR. These add-ons when they catch on become mandatory for everyone who does not want to handicap themselves like DBM.

But I thought vanilla was the best of days! It was the best expac, with all the players holding hands and killing reds together. I mean, look at how often people bring up how good the community was in Vanilla. Every person playing at the time must have been channeling Jesus Christ himself in order to achieve such togetherness.
Because noone really wants to be the guy spaming trade chat half afk over farming/questing while waiting.
