In this case I want streamers banned from streaming classic. It wasn’t part of vanilla and have waaay more potential to hurt communities.

We’ve been talking about this in guild. General consensus is that it was inevitable, but also that it runs exactly counter to the spirit of Classic. One of the key factors that differentiated the Vanilla experience from what followed was that the mechanics of the game FORCED you to be sociable with other players, to be polite and engage in the basic social mores that facilitated grouping and entry level friendship. It was this aspect, combined with the closed community nature of the servers and the relatively low (compared to modern) population numbers that fostered the sense of community and accountability that Vanilla was known for.
Removing the mechanical necessity of actually speaking to prospective group members and engaging in the prerequisite social niceties represents a corrosive influence that will detract from the communal experience of Classic. Yes the LFG tool was hailed as an enormous quality of life improvement when it was introduced, but over a decade later it is often looked at in retrospect as one of the elements that destroyed the sense of community that defined the early years of the game.
WoW is not, and never should be a single player game. It is an MMO, and that REQUIRES the player to engage with other human beings, form relationships and engage in social behavior. The gradual lessening of those requirements in order to placate solo players certainly increased the audience for the game but it also irrevocably altered the basic nature of the game.
It is the desire to return to that earlier status quo that drives much of the passion for Classic, and so it should not be surprising by any means that those same players see an add on like this as a threat to the sort of experience they were hoping to enjoy.

That’s where you’re wrong. In Retail it ports you to the dungeon. Forming the group is one thing, getting there is another. No one in retail is going to offer to travel the world in place of instant teleportation.

Is the auto invite sophisticated enough to build an ideal group of 1 tank 1 healer 3 dps?
If not, the problem is being overblown because no one will use auto invite for building a dungeon group.

Do any of you understand what the looking for group channel is going to look like with 5,000 people looking for groups at the same time?
This addon needs to be a part of the game, rather than an addon.

Auto invite like that is actually in the game already, 1.3 added meeting stones that auto invite without actual group makeup (5 dps happened all the time), so really, it’s still part of vanilla.
Around 1.5 they also let innkeepers do the same thing

This addon should be in its own channel or not allowed. Let the addon users be separate.

Not sure you know what a chat parse is but this addon is. Chat parse + invite macro = not evil.
Still have to have conversations about who you are and what you bring to the table, logistics, and loot priorities.
Still a non issue.

it is in it’s own private channel not the LFG channel, the video even says that it created a channel that it’s spamming.

The spamming of chat will get annoying though. Not sure why it has all the members post in LFG when the groups full?

I was informed it was nothing more than a clean, stream lined LFG chat window that would spam every now and again. The automation reeks of modern LFG. Which would really destroy one of the main social aspects of Classic.

Most of us don’t want things to be easier or more convenient. We don’t want an add on like this in the game. It’s really a no brainer, just get rid of this.
