The only place in retail that I experience people frequently giving up after a wipe would be LFR, which has no comparison since there’s no auto teleport to the dungeons.
In phase 1. Even in phase 1 you’re dealing with a very small population compared to retail where any person can potentially group with any other person in the entire region.
It really doesn’t at all in my experience. If people don’t know an encounter I have no problem explaining it to them even if it’s a completely random pug of people I don’t know.
Cool, I’ve seen angsty teens in random heroics occasionally try to kick someone and have the kick fail more often than not because retail isn’t the dystopian nightmare you’re trying to portray.
You might be like this, and kudos to you for that. But there are many, many out there that do. I say hello and ask how everyone is doing when I first get into a group and if I get 1 response back out of 10 groups I’m surprised this speed run mentality and total disconnect is just a bi-product of these type of addons. Whether they be blizzard implemented or someone wrote up their own. My largest concern is the integrity of the games social aspects which I’m concerned will be damaged through addons such as these.
With the size of these servers at launch I see little difference at this point. Sure they will come down at some point but a good majority of the social constructs of your server are going to be created in the first few weeks/months of its existence. Increase the interactions between people early, don’t lessen it.
While I can appreciate the detailed examples, and I also want classic to succeed, I am hesitant to support addons which enable non-vanilla players to overcome QoL obstacles. Maybe I’m taking your comments out of context?
Regardless of when you started playing WoW, you need to know how to play the game in its most basic state of development. I’d rather teach players about /4 than suggest they just download this addon.
Uhhh, this existed in Vanilla. Make sure you aren’t looking at the retail version of this addon. The Classic version is nothing more than a chat parser.
There isn’t anything they can do to break this. It’s a chat parser…that is it. The other functionality in the retail version, sure. But the classic version doesn’t do anything that you couldn’t do in a chat window.
