Here is the LFG Addon in action! Much worse than you thought

I thought the add on was going to be more of an lfg posting tool. I don’t think having an app that is basically a dungeon finder goes well with the spirit of classic. I vote break it.

It is not a dungeon finder.

SHOCKING revelation that Shalarian is, in fact, a RETAIL CASUL!!!

I’m sorry, are you a developer of WoW? Did you discuss this with the dev team? No you discussed it on reddit. That’s not community decision. You had no right to make this choice for millions of people.

again, iwe given you my answear… and blizz also taken it up, as far as i understand… trying to ask me the same question over and over, isnt going to make me change…

I’m another NOT in favour.

Please do not allow add-ons such as this, Blizzard!

So you choose to be rude then? I asked for a yes or no answer very nicely, why can’t you simply answer, did you say yes or mean yes then?

and no, Blizzard was not referring to autosorting addons, but you know that already and choose to be rude when asked a simple question.

The sky is falling

An addon that automates grouping but doesn’t teleport you to the dungeon. Which means you still have to travel and do the dungeon together.

What’s the issue again?

addon authors do not have to discuss their addons with the dev team, that has never been a requirement.

To be fair, I contacted the person responsible for Addons to get beta access and they had all information provided to them. Never heared back from them after that.

I highly doubt you were forthcoming about your intentions with the add on. Considering we’ve already discovered a great deal of things you attempted to keep hidden in order to make your self look better.

I never tried to keep anything hidden. What did I ?

As Esfand stated the description does not match the functionality. You attempted to make it appear more innocuous than it really is. It’s a Classic breaking add on that I sincerely hope gets banned. And you need to be banned from creating any more add ons as you’re not responsible enough to do so.

Props on considering a hard one. I think bag sorting is fine, but then the argument becomes “where is the line drawn?”

Automated features which affect more than 1 player, perhaps. For example, auto-fishing would saturate the AH with X fish, which would easily affect multiple players, whereas…would bag sorting? Not in a way I can imagine right now; the small efficiency boost isn’t worth making a fuss over, imo.

Unfortunately, there’s always a loophole…which is why broad strokes always require some leeway in both directions.

TL;DR:

  • Things that automate player actions.
  • Things that affect more than 1 player.

This list can be improved as more questions are asked, of course…

Which part of the description is wrong then? I will update it accordingly.

ok autoinvite for guild raids that was widely used back then, or whisper invite.

If it moved the players on its own, definitely. The way it usually works? I think it’s ok? Examples that I’m not aware of are welcome, of course.

A healbot that targets the lowest health raid member? I used one in MC for a couple weeks when I was 15, and while it was fun to top healing meters on trash, I think things like that should be broken.

I’ve never used decursive, but this one could be contentious…lots of people use/use it, but I dislike how it almost automates the process.

The debate gets difficult at that point.

healbot and decursive are both out, the api they are using those versions never worked.

The new versions would be ok though.

oh and btw Mrplow was the bomb, still works too!

When will you ever learn Blizzard? How can you not know any better than this? Your pandering to make the game easier so you can make more money has been ruining the game for such a long time. If this is in CLASSIC then it is NOT classic, just a huge disappointment! Remember when WOW first came out and basically killed EverQuest? Do you?
Why even bother going to all the trouble to release Classic, and do something like this?

It’s not enough to ban the addon.

Ban the people who made it and who support it.

That addon is an act of war.
