I go into each zone a few minutes before the event timer runs down to zero. I go to where the boss spawns next to a large group of people. As soon as the event timer gets to zero, nothing spawns and nothing happens. Then the announcement that the next event will start in 90 minutes. It has been like this all day. What am I missing?
You went to the marker on the map, yes? I haven’t seen any bosses fail to spawn today.

It’s really, really bugged. Currently just hanging around doing nothing. Ragnaros is hiding.

Correct, I went to the location marked on the map. I have the quests and there was also a large group of people waiting there. It has happened every time I have gone into the event today for every portal. Most people just curse in chat and leave… I just want to make sure I am not missing anything.

Here is what I have figured out so far (I think lol) -
- Go through the portal right as the event pops and go kill the big jello (marked on map).
- At that point a few little mini-zones will pop around the zone. Do a couple of those but when there is one left - stop and go to where the jello was.
- After the last little zone quest is done, the boss will spawn and then kill him.
The entire process takes 7-9 minutes so if you aren’t fast or have lag you may miss stuff.

I was just in Searing Gorge. Boss did not spawn - left after 20 mins

I’m not sure I’m reading this correct.
Maybe read the text on the top of the screen. If it says return to dalaran or kill the remaining memories then you are in a place that the boss already appeared in and is gone.
The boss appears in the first 5-7 minutes.
It will never reappear in that time after it’s defeated.
You’ll get a whole new ui thing appear on top of your screen if your there when the event is actually happening.

There are posts in the bug report forum about events that can’t be completed or bosses not spawning.

That wasn’t the case. We were there. Did the memories, got to the boss and Ragnaros wasn’t there. We were already there. It wasn’t a situation of missing it. It’s bugged.

The boss spawns rotate zones. It literally tells you when and where the next spawn is on the portal and in other zones. Each boss does not spawn every 1.5 hours.

i just did northrend and searing gorge and killed the lich king and ragnaros successfully so it worked for me on Grovehold on Mok’Nathal server. If there’s a bug it must only happen to certain servers or clusters or something. Certain instances of it.

So to me, this is not intuitive at all. In the portal room, the message above the portal that says Event Active for XX time is actually the end of the last event. What you want to do it go to the next portal over. There are memories to kill while you wait for the boss - it’s confusing because the end of the last event also has left over memories to kill.
