Yeah, I am leaning warrior for play style at endgame for most enjoyment. Definitely one of if not the biggest issues is the farming/soloing stuff, but it seems like I generally wouldn’t enjoy most the classes that are good at that outside of that aspect? So either way, gonna have to make a sacrifice somewhere - or just focus on the main, then later level a farming alt.

My advice? Go warrior and, so long as you have fun with it, stick with it until you hit 60. I haven’t even started an alt yet. Have to hit 60 first to avoid the repercussions of altaholism. You don’t want to have to struggle leveling a warrior when Phase 2 hits, and suddenly everyone starts seeing warriors as walking honor farms.

Warrior. You’re right that there may be a lot of them, but that’s the only real option if you want to Tank and DPS. Druid and Paladin could do both as well in theory, but the damage won’t be anything great, and the tanking won’t likely go beyond dungeons.

Also, I suppose even if there are alot - if we think about it, a lot are needed.
Considering also how many are only going DPS.
Pretty confident in going with warrior now - which was my original choice before giving into alts. Now just to figure out a server and faction.

Incendius has great faction balance and a healthy dose of world PvP in contested areas, plus the community is very friendly and helpful in my experience, so I’d highly recommend it. Play whatever race suits your fancy, but I’d go Dwarf for ally (for the Gimli quotes and the beard) or Orc for horde (best race, it ain’t easy being green but Hardiness sure does help). Gnome warriors are also very good though, since they can break movement-impairing CC’s which are normally a warrior’s biggest weakness.

It’s Eastern, so that’s also appealing. And not as overpopulated and streamfull as Faerlina lol
I’m still debating if I want to go medium/low pop or high pop, PVE server or PVP.
It’s gonna take a while to figure that one out, but I’m gonna try to nail that down by this weekend so I can get the ball rolling.
If you want to tank, you’re effectively limited to warrior or druid. Paladins really aren’t viable tanks outside of 5-mans, due to no taunt and mana issues. Druids are viable on most fights, but there are some that pretty much require a warrior. Druids aren’t very good DPS wise, but CAN do it, and they can heal. Warriors are FOTM and top tier DPS and tanking, but can’t heal. Really, it seems like those two are the only choices that meet your requrements.
Also, for the guy mentioning Incendius, pretty sure its heavily horde stacked after the last round of transfers.

If hunter didn’t have such a massive drop off in DPS after BWL, I’d go hunter.
I had no issues farming gold as a warrior in classic. You can clear SM quite well at level 60 and it’s a pretty decent gold farm. Not to mention you can always run dungeons, chance at BoEs and just gold income alone. Yeah it’s not as good at farming Maraudon on a hunter/lock or as quick as a AoE spamming mage but it can be done. Not to mention utilizing any trade skills you pick up… really gold isn’t hard to make in this game.
Hunters are completely fine DPS. They don’t top meters like other classes but who cares? They’re always needed for tranq shot and super reliable. Our hunters in my raid in vanilla pretty much never had to deal with repair bills with their FD tricks they used in raids on wipes. I always preferred ranged DPS over melee.

Thanks for the insight! Is playing the AH viable at this point much, or are economies still going to take a while to even out as phases go?
Yea, I’m not worried with topping meters. As long as I’m useful.
Tank if you enjoy it, there’s a huge shortage end game. You’ll find groups very easily.

Congrats, OP!
Admitting you have a problem is the first step on the road to recovery.
In Org, we have multiple AA (Altoholics Anonymous) meetings each week, but I’m sure that they got that, too, in Stormwind in the Cathedral area or something.
Just work the steps, take it one day at a time, and when all that fails, just revel in your altoholism like the rest of us.
