I’ll only wear helms that dont completely cover the head. So this hat I’m wearing is just fine.
It depends on your character and what you want to project to others players on the RP side: is your character a villain, a hero, an adventurer, a lord, a lowly gnome, etc.
In PVP situation, you can use the tmog to determine his role and player confidence:
- Fully armored = hard target or fully geared with latest gear or weak that want to survive.
- No helm or rare helm = a confident player (might know is class well) or just want to show off is latest haircut or an Elf.
I like to play a fully naked dead corpse (minus the pants but i managed to find some shorts) so no helm: it attract a lot of Alliance players in Warmode, lol.
helm equals major clipping and default skin head look, no thanks.
I usually like to wear helms that don’t cover my character’s hair or make them bald. For the most part, though, I hide the helm because it’s less claustrophobic that way, unless I’m trying to become the ultimate tank, in which case, every single part of the body is fully armored.
I normally try to show my helm, but there’s a few sets where the helm is just ugly or I don’t have anything good that matches.
I’m closterphopic with a helm on. Seriously. I also feels like it depersonalizes me, like I’m just another box.
Besides how can other players see how pretty I am?!?

Depends on the helm and the mog.
I used to go helm-less for years, but I’m finally starting to appreciate how good they look over the last few expansions. I always go with cloaks turned off though.
No helmets, unless they either let my hair show (Kul Tiran heritage hat) or are like the hood I have and are basically neck items.
What can I say I like my face.
I like to see all my characters! Especially my gnomes. I want to see their soulful, inspired eyes.
Plus, there are all these customization options! Why would you hide your choices?
I usually wear a helm on melee characters because you’d probably want to protect your noggin from monsters if you were that close to them.
My mage, though, generally doesn’t wear a helm.

Depends on the helm. This rakish mask complements me.
No helm. I feel like hairstyle/color combinations are one of the things that makes characters unique from each other.
I would use them more if there were options to leave hair showing. Like if your character has long hair they wear down, there should be an option to have it showing underneath the helm. (For example, if this character wears a helm i should be able to leave my braids showing)
True. Still, though, they lack the charm that Draenei possess.
