What does that line mean? I was talking about the fact that for leveling, the sheer stats on azerite gear are HUGE. If heirloom pieces dont have matching stats (your azerite pieces start at 280 even at 110) it’ll not be worth using them in azerite slots.
Not a big deal guys. Take one or two heirloom pieces off and add azerite gear. Add a socket to your belt and get the 5% exp boost gem to partially offset it. Unless you are leveling a ton of alts it won’t make much of a difference, an hour or two tops in the difference.
There will never be heirloom azerite gear just like there will never be playable humans for Horde.
Um, no. 10-20% XP can’t be replaced by any degree of “power,” really, which is why the people in your island and instance groups shouldn’t have the option to gimp themselves on your time by using heirlooms that of course they are going to use.
Heirlooms just straight up shouldn’t be a burden to a group in group content. They will be used. They need to not suck.
Blizzard has been screwing over heirlooms since Legion especially. Look at how low ilvl they scale. When I run dungeons in Legion my heirlooms run 4-6 ilvl lower than the pieces that drop. In earlier content the heirlooms are always top ilvl. Blizzard clearly hating on the looms with ilvl caps and buffing content with out notice. They think it’s going to extend the game to slow people down, but all it’s doing is pissing players off.
Again though there will never be Azerite Heirlooms because it wouldn’t work past the expansion.
TBH in my experience playing island expeditions on my main and a couple of alts there’s enough really bad players out there that skill is going to be the determining factor. And azerite gear does not have the secondary stats that heirlooms have. I see this as being about 92nd out of the 100 problems with BFA.
It’s like flying, where heirlooms and flying were both decisions that were made a long time ago by a different regime at Blizzard. Now they have significantly nerfed the heirlooms while simultaneously dropping the xp requirements for each level from 1-110 and implementing level scaling. If the devs of today had their way they would remove both flying and heirlooms from the game.
I don’t see them as needed at all from 110 -120, which is my only concern with my two other “mains.” They level so insanely fast, always in 200 percent full rested state. So I especially default to the azerite stuff.
Ok, but again, and I think a lot of people are looking past this important part of the thread, it’s perfectky fine if you or others ignore or think that they’re not worth it, or perhaps think the devs have all but forgotten their place that’s fine if you don’t want to use them…
But I hope you all plan on soloing your way to 120 because the people around you will be using heirlooms, and if you’re doing leveling content that relies on other people, guess what… underpowered heirlooms are now your problem!
Will the secondary stats be enough? Will the lack of out leveling your gear be enough? I guess we will find out, but there are 1-3 slots that are traditionally jacked up in leveling from 110-120, and heirlooms occupy those slots and are seemingly… not jacked up.
I guess my 25 alts will see you all in islands… so if you’re not wearing heirlooms, thanks for the carry, I guess?
I rather have secondary stats on my gear then Azerite traits. Heck I ran around with the love is in the air necklace because my heart was terrible on the char I was leveling. It really doesnt matter till you hit 120.
I clocked it at 24 hours, not sure what you are doing, but 6-8 seems really low estimate. Did you honestly test it from 110 flat, no rested XP, no heirlooms, just questing? My test was just that - no rested XP, no heirlooms, no war mode, no XP pots, just questing and yeah, 24 hours to do it. And I can’t see your “questing skill” being 3x better … I also did full 12 slot upgrades at 111 with crafted gear, so gear was OP the whole way.
Dungeon runs are about 1 bubble, so chain running dungeons is going to be way, way more than 6-8 hours - so you must not have done any of those. Islands are only double that. Questing is not much better. I think if you are just estimating off the top of your head, you are probably misreading your hours spent.
Note that I clocked 20-110 in 50 hours, only questing (but with warmode and xp pots and heirlooms). So yeah, can’t wait for tomorrow’s heirlooms as I have 8 toons at 111 waiting for them. I have 150k gold waiting with toons sitting at the heirloom vendor
I’ll be curious to see how 111-120 heirlooms with haste scale since it’s possible to have almost all heirlooms with haste as the secondary.
As for the original question, they deserve to be beefy (at least beefier than greens of equivalent level, not better than blues but should be right there with standard dungeon drop blues), you have to buy and upgrade the things and when you add up the gold it takes to get multiple sets (cloth, mail, leather AND plate) upgraded with each level cap AS WELL AS the grind/time sink needed to get some of them (it took me 2 months of logging in every Sunday to get that one ring from STV fishing) they deserve to be good.
