I don’t think that’s going to be much of an issue lol. Horrible tanks are still going to be horrible, good tanks will still be good. One time that sticks out in my mind is the prot warrior who never used ignore pain x_x
Yea but leveling 110-119 feels so powerful with just leveling gear now. You feel like a powderpuff at 120 but that’s whole different thing. I can’t see heirlooms really feeling any different. Definatly worth the XP bonus IMO.
I honestly don’t have an issue with this. The armor pieces are fairly underwhelming anyways… I’ll take secondary statistics and +30% experience over a handful of Azerite traits on very weak armor pieces.
I really like how you used a TL;DR to summarize 3 short sentences, a TL;DR that ended up being like a single line of text shorter than what was supposedly too long to read.
Jesus. This is what we get as consumers these days.
The point though is not how strong they are in comparison, the heirlooms are permanent until max heirloom level to whatever you decide to pay for and give bonus XP the entire way.
Given how fast most of us levelled from day 1 of BfA without the heirloom stuff there is no need to go either way. You can take the blue AZ gear and kill things that little bit faster, or take that little bit longer and get some bonus XP, it all works in the end aside from the fact heirlooms don’t need replacing.
Devs do what they want to do for their own reasons. They don’t do what a handful of players have asked for. Nobody asked for this. At all. And you know it.
No, you paid to have them cut off at a higher level.
That’s it.
devs screw up and make bad decisions all the time
bliz is a shining example of this with TONS of back tracked design decisions over the years - back tracked because of massive player blowback
Just wanted to add a little info to this post.
Right now an heirloom helmet at level 110(current max for looms) has the following stats: 40 Agi/Str/Int + 61 Stamina + 54 of a single secondary stat
Azeritie helm from HoA quest at 110 has the following stats:
235 Agi/Str/Int + 376 Stamina - It also has 2 traits and the potential for a 5 ilvl upgrade once your neck reaches level 3.
Unless the scaling kicks into hyper-drive at 111 using heirlooms is going to be noticeably weaker.
A level 111 green quality helm has 74 Agi/Str/Int and 111 Stam so basing it off that your still looking at being short 150 of your primary stat and no azerite traits. That’s not even accounting for the other 2 armor slots Azerite gear takes up, the Chest and Shoulder.
The choice will be 400ish primary stat loss + no traits -OR- 30% exp bonus, more than half of the total heirloom bonus. I don’t think 200 of a secondary stat that you have little choice of will cover the power gap.
So, uh… that’s completely unacceptable and ridiculous.
There’s choosing to be less powerful for XP, and there’s “why are we wiping? This is only a leveling dung-… Oh… heirlooms on the tank/healer.”
Heirlooms are ALWAYS wonky at the expansion breaks though. How do they compare at 111 would be the better metric.
I couldn’t care less. It’s not like azerite gear is all that important while leveling anyways.
Ythisens (rest in peace) mentioned heirlooms don’t account for much dps but dps isn’t why we use azerite traits while leveling or at least not why I do. I use them for the sustain and that’s going to possibly hit harder. Over 20% of my self healing comes from resounding protection and vampiric seed. Sustain is a huge factor and I would like to think we can be compensated for this in some way even if all you do is add leech. The best part is Blizzard could add scaling leech so at 119 the leech is nice and at 120 it’s absolutely garbage so you have zero incentive to keep the piece (not that you really would ever want an heirloom over say, an Uldir heroic piece. I know scaling can be sh!t but maybe we could make it so heirlooms are still better than leveling gear (considering the effort and cost involved).
P.S. Please remove your mature language filter. It’s 2019 and we’re all adults here (except anyone working at Blizzard over the age of 32. Like Washington politicians, nothing cuts through them like ‘naughty’ words. Jesus are they serious? And here I thought Blizzard hired the best. Bring back ghostcrawler. Guy could dish it as good as he took it.)
Fine because it is still faster for leveling than Azerite.
I personally couldn’t find numbers for the heirlooms at 111 on wowhead even when switching over to PTR data when I posted the other day.
If anybody knows a way to access the numbers for 111+ heirlooms I would love to see the stats for a side by side with the azerite gear.
So there should be no net gain in wearing them, if you’re weaker and thus take longer to kill things?
Where did I use mature language? I said the training wheels have to come off at some point. That’s not mature language…
You either quoted the wrong person or are waaay to sensitive.
If anything, the heirlooms will be better than the Azerite traits for a few reasons.
- Traits on Azerite Armor gained while leveling really aren’t that powerful.
- Azerite gear doesn’t have secondary stats while the heirloom slots will. I’ll take that extra 2-3% Crit on leveling a fire mage over a bad trait any time. The only exception is a certain craftable cloth Legendary item that is actually better than the heirloom on the cloth classes due to its passive and gem slots, meaning higher secondary stats, and will likely see a lot of use on toons well into BfA leveling.
- XP boost.
That being said, if we’re talking about scaling hiccups, they need to look at the 100-101 leveling hiccup they have in scaling, as it’s really difficult to get over that little hump, and the XP boost isn’t worth the extra time you’ll have running to your corpse until you ding 101-102 and hit better scaling. I just hope we don’t have the same issues in the 110-112 transition.
The easiest way over that hiccup is to farm invasions from legion (65k per) and bfa (25k per) not including bonuses.
I cant imagine itll matter, i leveled my warrior straight through MoP timewalking so i had no azerite gear and was just fine. I still have a 375 chest on her from timewalking and keep up alright with dps… i know azerite could improve it but im not completely useless without it.
