I don’t like that stressful feeling, another reason why I stopped healing lowbie dungeons post-Legion scaling, as the damage felt spiky. Every pull felt like a race to keep the tank up vs. pre scaling world where it was pretty relaxing to be a healer. So I quit
I disagree. I think it’s a breath of fresh air having healing be hectic - it’s really fun. Also gives your entire group something to work towards. It’s not just the healers job to keep the group alive, need the rest of your group to avoid more and use interrupts and CC as well.
Not gonna lie. Got that 12% increased healing received enchant to try and help my buddy out with healing me in dungeons. Cause these dungeons feel extra spikey.
A big issue as well is some fights are buggy. I was in Spires the other day on the last boss and many times the spear would sail through her chest/belly and not do anything.
This is why I quit healing Mythics after Legion. Not worth the stress.
Roll beacon of virtue, divine toll and use Light of The Martyr often. You should be fine.
Blessing of Sacrifice on tank when facing hard pulls. Avenging Crusader deliberately as well. Holy shock on CD. Crusader strike on CD.
Healing feels a bit spikey right now due to gearing up.
0s were rough last night, especially healing melee characters that don’t get out of mechanics.
i did 8/8 on my Hpal, at 172 now
its not that hard, kyrian Divine Toll is huge as well as knowing how and when to sac can save lives
Assuming DPS aren’t playing like goombas, you should be fine
Try and keep in mind that right now this is as hard as mythic 0 will be the entire expansion because everyone is in bad gear.
In a few weeks, instead of having 150-160 players trying to push through as a decent challenge you’ll put pugs together that are 210, and come to the forums complaining about how the dungeons are so faceroll and easy.
Healers always have it rough up front on XPACs. Everyone else wants to get in there and start smashing stuff, while the healer isn’t geared enough to easily handle it yet. Props to healers for the first few weeks of this.
If you’re doing this in pug groups, I will offer the following to help you feel better:
1.) A lot of people venture into these things without enough gear or with barely enough gear to get through it. They’re taking more damage and doing less damage than they will be after another 10ilvls of gear. This makes healing much harder.
2.) For all of us, these dungeons are new. People don’t know what to avoid, yet. They haven’t figured out the dance and rhythm of these encounters. They don’t yet know which trash mobs need to be interrupted or which spells have priority for interrupt. They don’t know which groups are gonna be too big to pull, what to skip, and what to blow cooldowns on/save cooldowns for. This makes healing much harder.
3.) A lot of people in the pug-verse are not super good players, and when you add #1 and #2 to #3, you get a healer’s dive into the deep end.
So don’t get down on yourself, and don’t let anxiety keep you out of healing. It will only get easier from here. And paladins are a very capable healing class. Stick with it.
I saw this too. Took three spears before she went down on the ground in the second fly phase. Maybe it’s suppose to do that? I recall just one being enough.
I usually love healing early in the expansion because it’s how I learn the dungeon the best. Pain has a way of building the best muscle memory.
As for stress, it really depends on the type of people you end up getting. DPS that don’t know how to interrupt, how to avoid mechanics, etc… is obviously going to be painful. But I usually take these as opportunities to test my capabilities, so I’m w/e about it.
That is very true. I think I only pugged 2 mythics all together. So I have a very biased viewpoint.
Nah it’s just super buggy. Gonna be awful for M+ if not fixed.
well, ofcourse it is, people life depend on you and you can’t slack like tank or dps
Never tried healer never will, i don’t deal with responsibility pressure well. I’d rather just aoe stuff as dps
I already had someone going off on me because it took me so long to drink my mana back up. /sigh
not in normal.
