Thanks. I’ve been thinking about how we used to downrank spells to avoid overhealing. This helps a lot.
If only it were a week from now I could just say, “see you next tuesday”…
This is a nice idea, it will be a nifty little reference to look at as my gear progresses.
A shame some people are so determined to be pointlessly negative, they just can’t open their mind to how other people choose to play.
This was somewhat made to help people I had seen being lead down the wrong path. People always say, “downrank your spells to save mana,” but they never explain why or when. Results in people thinking you should be downranking already by level 20 with 0 healing power.
its actually really interesting for shamans you need atleast 200 healing power to start downranking your spells.
also there are some other cases (not needing a strong heal or something like that
anyway im loving your work
Thats a bookmark.
Great work.
Thanks for this. I did some testing and it looks like the Renew calculation for Priests is slightly off. You have it as
SpiritualHealing*ImprovedRenew*(Base+Coefficients*Healing)
but it should be
SpiritualHealing*ImprovedRenew*Base + Coeffients*Healing
.
I verified this up to Rank 9 with 1 point in Improved Renew.
That’s good to know, I was under the impression that healing power from gear was affected by talents when I made this.
May want to also check out Ozgar’s Downranking Guide and Tool:
https://www.wowdownrank.com/
.
It’s a little harder to get the raw information from, but seems to be crafted with more knowledge than mine.
It’s off in that tool too, it’s predicting 255 HPS but I see 243 in game. I’m not sure if it’s a bug or if renew is a special case. Maybe some other priests can test with different talents.
I believe your level penalties for coefficients are incorrect. Wowhead Classic has them at (level of next + 4) / current level - which seems to roughly match in-game performance and seems right from my hazy memory.
