Healers Struggling with Dispel Visibility Due to Private Auras

Little surprise here. They worked for me with Grid the other night in Voidspire, but weren’t working for my guildies using other frames.

Sounds like a skill issue, ngl

I agree that their new ui makes the dispel visibility more difficult to see. Until I learned the mechanics of the dungeons, I didn’t know what to look for. Not a problem now that I’m getting used to it.

I very much dislike not having just a simple white border around dispellable stuff.

Why it needs to be like this is cringe.

Making those fancy new dispel borders in beta to try and convince healers the UI change wouldn’t be that bad without addons, just to turn them off for the default blizzard frames in raids is just so dumb. Why even have the devs put in the time to make them then.

And this, folks… is why I’m not even wasting my time healing anymore.

If they’re not going to make the tools work well, then I’m just not participating. I’ve been a healer since Vanilla. I’ve seen it all. I’ve healed with and without addons in three different MMORPGs. But there’s no way on Murloc’s swampy bog that I’m dealing with this junk.

So Grid bypasses the Private Aura if I’m reading this right? If so, interesting it could provide such an advantage considering the clawing back on information being displayed.

It might actually be an interaction with another addon I use, Harrek’s Advanced Raid Frames.

One of the issues is that Blizzard can secret all they want, but addon developers are clever.

By the way, mowed down a t11 at ilvl 242 as holy without a death. Val only level 19. Stupid easy.

Yep definitely won’t be getting the TWW S1 experience anymore lol. Maybe Labyrinth can bring something interesting to the table.

Also, if you ever see the worm enemy from the nemesis pack, MC them. Their Gravel Spike ability does a crapton of damage.

I’m confused… what’s this private aura thing? The article doesn’t really explain it. There are debuffs only the player can see?

I use that giant lizard too, it’s AOE and follow up AOE do like 150k DPS. Lol

No, it’s a blizzard coding issue.
“Our own private aura displays don’t currently have full parity with normal auras, and they aren’t supported in nameplates. On top of that they also require our encounter designers to be very diligent about flagging almost every encounter debuff as private, which is cumbersome and very easy to get wrong.”

Hidden debuffs/actions that addons can’t read.

Yea it’s crazy, the gravel worm does 500k for each shrapnel that lands on a enemy.

The nemesis pack this season are very fun to toy with. :smiling_face_with_horns:

Malg doesn’t like healers, just a heads up lol

I was having to call them out over discord, because I could see them. It was a bit frustrating.

Luckily you can just heal through it on normal. Can’t imagine harder difficulties.

No one should

:sob: :sob:

I don’t know why we have to play the game of find the debuff while raiding while healing while staying out of the bad, but clearly, I’m not the intended audience of these changes. I liked when I could have squares and just clear the debuff. Clearly, I’m bad and simple, so I’ll take my “git gud” prize and play DPS.

The blue swirlies on the blue ground are peak design too.
