Healers seem to have issues in this expansion

Didn’t really have issue with that one, i’m more thinking about Raging Storm and the first boss of RLP.

go down two key levels, and it’s fixed lol. Seriously, these dungeons didn’t need continuous nerfs.

How should keys fail? Tank deaths? dps? lack of healing?

In an infinite scaling system, they’ll fail due to one of these reasons at some point.

No one answered how they want keys to fail yet.

The opposite works just as well though, game too easy? Push higher.

I’m back to pushing 100k hps on Raging Storm, just in 18/19 attempts, not in 15s. Which is a lot more consistent difficulty curve-wise.

but that just means people on the lower end are stuck dpsing cause damage checks exist.

People on the lower end are learning the game at their own pace.

If they’re still doing 10s a month in the season they probably wouldn’t had been able to handle these bosses pre-nerf anyway and seemingly random difficulty spikes is the absolute best way to frustrate casual players and we need them to stick around.

It’s more on if keys brick due to lack of healing, dps or tank deaths. Shifting the balance, just changes why keys deplete.

If too many keys are bricking due to lack of dps, healers step in to make up the difference.

Which is ironic considering they made a bunch of HP changes in an effort to stifle that

They did not. They simply nerfed healing because there’s too much overhealing (and still is.)

50-60% overhealing is WILD.

Need to buff HP by 2x, and nerf healing by 50% or something to achieve healing that requires skill, and doesn’t require twitch reflexes.

It takes 30 seconds to read the conversation and realise that person was talking about sales and subs not total keys.

That is why I said what I said about blizzards api being pieced up and restricted.

Almost a gotcha though.

this is a healer thread presumably about m+, so why would less healers be playing?

WOW token is cheap, so that means WOW is profitable.

Which is a piece of a puzzle we don’t have all the pieces too.

You really don’t know what you are talking about when you end up in the tail end of a conversation with 0 context.

I’m not entirely sure what dungeons you’re doing that have 50-60% overhealing cuz that honestly sounds like a healer that could be throwing in some more damage.

I mean, obviously depends on class right? I play disc priest and no amount of twitch reflexes is gonna help you heal, same with some other specs. I feel like healing takes more skill this patch than the last few patches tbh

Seeing a lot of things conflated in this thread that are unrelated:

  • DF not selling well has everything to do with the issues with ABK and Shadowlands not healing. Players would have to buy the game to run into the healing issues
  • The healing issues are directly related to the fact that the dungeons were tuned to a shadowlands damage taken profile… which blizz changed in their 40/40 change and then again in their 10%+ tank nerf (which was unequal across all tanks). That means that the damage output in the dungeons was tuned for players taking 40% less damage than they currently do. Which is why we’re seeing 50%+ nerfs on damage from some mobs. This also explains why the dungeons with the least unavoidable damage are considered the easiest. Because there is a lot less silly mandatory healing there.

Blizz seems to have gone full spite mode IMO on tanks and healers this expac. But that’s just my two cents.

Either way… DF not selling well has nothing to do with healing… at all. If people were canceling their subs like in cata… then I’d agree, but this doesn’t quite feel like cata levels of stupid. But, it does feel like it’s approaching it from a different level of stupid.

i dunno what healers wanted tbh, massive threads about how they don’t want to dps, get the option to not dps pretty much in this xpac (not really) but then don’t want hard healing checks?

Disc aside, it’s all twitch reflexes lol. Did you miss a global or not is sometimes all it takes for someone to die.
