People are playing healers in M+, they’re just not pugging as frequently as other roles because whenever there’s a problem in the group the first person to be blamed is always the healer.

It makes complete sense that the role that is the first to be blamed for group troubles is going to be more choosy about who they group with in response.

The last part is honestly the big one and is a problem in both M+ and raid PUGs. People standing on wrong side of Altarius complaining about not getting healed (spoilers they are but they take so much damage) or in raid where someone dies from 80% not hitting a defensive on Annihilation #4 from Neltharion.

Healing is fine and kind of fun when you are planning around ramps and bursts, but definitely loses a lot of its enjoyment when little Timmy wants to face tank a frontal and expect you to accomodate.

Funny, I was having a hard time getting into 11’s - 13’s because people would find 430+ 2k io healers so I couldn’t get invites.

Seems there are plenty of healers, regular groups just don’t want us.

Yep. I noticed the same thing with priest.

People just completely ignore mechanics and no one uses any of their self-heals except the tank (and if it’s war and they don’t know how to play, you won’t even get that). Then predictably I’m OOM after every boss fight after blowing through all my cooldowns, casting mass dispel way more than I should have to, AoE spells I barely use at all with a decent group and a pot. Then I say “OOM, drinking, plz wait” as the boss dies and inevitably the DH tank runs ahead and aggros 100 things and is LoS-ing me.

I won’t PUG an m+ group for the rest of the expansion.

P.S. DPS, just install DBM. It’s not that hard. It tells you what the mechanics are. And learn how LoS works.

Some of us are. Some of us remember the old ways.

I think the bigger issue with keys is the fact there isn’t much reason to do a lot of the levels. People are typically going to do an 11 over a 15 since they offer pretty much the same rewards and if someone wants to do a “higher” key they’d rather do a +16 (or better yet a +17) over the +15.

You have the patience of a saint if you’re PUG-ing with an hPal this expac. That’s gotta be brutal with LoS

I’ve been PUGing as MW which is pretty range restricted (ATotM is 30 yards so it isn’t healing the MM Hunter in Narnia) and isn’t the GREATEST at dealing with unnecessary damage, but it has been okay so far especially since this is the best the spec has felt in years to me.

Don’t get me wrong, most of my pugging experience has been fine, but there’s always a chance as a healer that you’re just going to run into 1 person (or maybe more) who just totally goes off at you and blames you for everything and that would really ruin the enjoyment of the game for anyone. It happens to tanks and DPS as well, but there’s just a higher chance of it happening to you as a healer, unfortunately.

So if you know nice people who are willing to run M+ with you, why not be safe than sorry? It just makes logical sense.

I notice a lot during PUG heroics that healers don’t rez if you die, they want you to run back.

So ya, I would say that some healers are lazy and selfish.

some of these higher keys are stressful even for me as a dps I have crazy respect for healers

Just an FYI I try to rez all the time in heroics, but the group always speeds off and gets into combat so I then can no longer rez. So I’ve honestly just stopped trying to rez because it always gets cancelled or the group runs off without me and dies if I don’t keep up.

What flower said. Or most people just auto release ASAP and meet back up faster than you can rez.

Sounds like I’d have fun this patch if I actually played it seriously. But I just am not enjoying this xpac.

There was a topic maybe a week ago about this, and I was actually confused about where I was because it was fairly civil and in agreement. This one feels much more accurate to my location, tell him he isn’t really experiencing this and also abuse the healers that don’t want to play healer anymore. Nice. Bash them with conflicting messages!

This is some what true. Healing is not appreciated. I used to have every single healer possible but now they mostly dps. My only healer left is the priest. There are some horrible tanks out there that think they can do whatever they want with crappy gear.

Honestly, it’s fun. It keeps me on my toes, and keeps me on top of things.

I have 2 hpals at end game currently, along with 2 resto shams, priesty and druid. Been fun.

I am not either. I play when I am bored but I have lost interest.

Because I developed a very thick skin in this game, a very long time ago when I was learning to tank, back during… eh kinda Wrath, mostly Cata.

That’s just bread and butter honestly. It has been going on for as long as the game as been around.

For example, last night, I had a very iffy group for an Uldaman run. Dps was around 30k - 40k on bosses. It was silly, but I didn’t say anything - until we got to snake boss. No one seemed to understand the concept of self defensives/healthstones.

Guess who got the blame? Me.

Guess who also didn’t give a rats behind? Also me.

I bailed after the third wipe. Only the second time ever I have left first during a key. I won’t tolerate a group being bad, and then doubling down on their poor choices and trying to blame someone else.

The servers they were from, coupled with the low dps and poor talent choices should have been a warning, but meh.

Whatever. Like I said, I have a very thick skin and will give it back as good as I get it. No fricks given.
