Healers heal

Game has been on for 16 years, and a lot of people have dozens of alts.
No one wants to stop and smell roses in a levelling dungeon.
There’s classic for people who enjoy that kind of thing

like right before they made it to where you’re supposed to damage to heal… i thought that was fun… and you could still do damage your spells just werent gimped in exchange for healing through damage

It had a playstyle shakeup every expansion for over a decade
Wrath: bubblebot
Cata: Atonement added, bubble mana refunds if the absorb is fully consumed, encouraging smarter play
MoP: Atonement buffed massively, allowing you to ignore targeted heals entirely in some content
WoD: Bubblebot again, this time with a talent for cast time bubbles too. Atonement nerfed into the ground, with reduced healing AND it could randomly heal a person who didn’t need healing, because reasons.
Legion: this crap we have now with Atonement being a buff.

Healers having competent DPS tool kits is the only reason I even consider healing these days.

The old school thought process of healers only healing is boring.

It was a weird push. I believe that is the same time they made Chain Heal bounces random so it could hit full health targets and be wasted.

Yes i like bubblebot

ok, then just heal

but when you get to the point where there is time to do something else, do something else.

this isn’t rocket science.

and no, healers standing around looking cute when there’s nothing to heal isn’t the answer.

It’s one thing I like about shaman. As long as I keep Flame shock going I get a free, instant Lava burst that I can weave between casts.

Whelp … That explains it.

I’m a Cata-baby!

This argument would go over better with healers if DPS bothered to do anything to heal themselves when they have time. How often do you see DPS standing around at half health waiting for the healer to drink and heal them up? Everyone can eat mage food.

The gnome speaks nothing but straight facts.

I like to look at my mogs while healing tho cani still join your mythic group?

Why would DPS do something that takes longer than heals dropping a quick heal? The only time that applies is if your healer is OOM and drinking themselves.

Wrath first but yea… Sometimes simple is better. Maybe not for people looking to prove themselves in some esport stuff though

It’s not boring when several players are on the brink of death;)

you are correct - people should heal themselves during downtime if possible.

but that has nothing to do with the concept of healers contributing to damage when they can.

I’m talking about when healers are OOM and drinking themselves.

I’m no high level player, especially when I’m healing, but I think that usually that means they suck

I mean yeah…if you or your group are undergeared or terrible.

If I as a non healer can heal 15s and spare globals to do a bit of damage…there really isn’t any reason why you can’t either.

I struggle with full heirlooms and a healthy amount of game knowledge… Imagine some new player… this is way to hard the more i think about it. Leveling dungeons should be way easier so people can learn their class…
