I think you’re missing the whole “pressure the healer so they have to worry about themselves and not their team” thing.
Unless they’re awful they should be able to! Healer damage is pretty powerful right now.
I dunno, is that one single healer also killing you quickly?
A healer… heals. It would be a pretty poor healer that couldn’t heal damage from one person. If they’re killing you over and over in less than 5 minutes, THEN there might be a problem.
I was able to tickle a dk to death.
Thorns helps against melee.
Ranged usually destroys me though.
I don’t pvp often but when I do priests and mages are my favorite targets. Purgepurgepurgepurge and most don’t know what to do with themselves. And a dummy destro lock kept trying to kill me recently. He died 3 times because he couldn’t get any chaos bolts off.
Keep going.
I’m sure somewhere between 25 v 1 and 40 v 1, the healer will finally die.
You should never be able to 1v1 a healer on any class. They would be virtually useless in any form of group content.
2v1s are very doable. For some specs more than others of course. Pair anything up with a sin rogue and that healer is going to need help.
Even if you can burst hard enough to be dangerous to them, they’ll just use their mobility and HoTs to kite you around pillars for the next 10k years.
It’s hilarious how healing differs based on opposing team.
Once in Seething Shore I had 5 node caps and second in heals, but next Seething Shore, I had lowest out of the 4 healers and a panda was higher than me in total heals. He started harassing me, so instead of sneaking a node cap during fights, I stood well back somewhat hidden while healing until I passed him in heals. He still harassed me. I told him I had bad luck as the other team was focussing on healers.
Blizzard also assigned me group leader, so I have been around the block. He still harassed me by saying I was using the wrong heal spells etc. but the ones he thought I should use were usually timed out.
So long story short - if they focus on healers, they can usually kill them quickly, especially with rotating CC and 5 on one.
In my opinion. It’s not that healers can’t die fast enough, but the damage dealers in bgs or general pvp don’t tend to chain interupt, stun/cc or dispell magic effects, ect. It doesn’t help also dps tend to pick their own targets individually, while there is an enemy resto druid free casting HoTs.
I always go for the healer when I can, but even when I’m not the only one attacking, coordinating CC/stuns in randoms is difficult. Nobody really has a feel for how anybody else plays and so you end up with wasted stuns/silences/etc, which gives the healer a significant advantage. There are some healing specs that are just darned hard to catch casting which makes matters that much worse.
Usually Azshara’s trinket, Coordinated assault, proc of alchemy stone, hero and MS pet effect decimates anyone. For extra spice chuck berserking buff or salty water potion
It’s really amusing to be a H Priest and being able to spam Greater Heal. A spell that I should not be able to spam.
Greater Heal
4% of base mana 40 yd range
3 sec cast
Requires Priest (Holy)
Requires level 40An exceptional spell that heals an ally for 65% of their maximum health.
huh. And I thought greater pyroblast was already bad, but when I look at this.
Healers are meant to outlast someone 1v1. Always have in WoW. Some classes can kill them, but it’ll always be difficult because the game is balanced around 3v3 arena. Which means someone needs to be able to tank someone else properly to even be viable.
On the subject of 2v1’ing, if you cannot 2v1 a healer, you guys are doing something wrong. Proper kick rotations and stuns without DR’ing, or similar practices should result in a healer going down smoothly.
Finally, there’s an overall problem with damage not being high enough both in the arena world and in the world itself. This is a problem that’s been known and people have discussed for quite some time. Even if damage was properly tuned though, a healer should outlast a dps 1v1.
It’s a ‘if they get the cast off, you deserve the consequences’. 3 Seconds of a healer being unattended and not being attacked etc is just irresponsible from the DPS in BGs. But I’m not kidding that I’ve been in BGs where I’ve just been free casting it back to back.
I agree with OP. But the monk class you are playing has MW? Well above average for PvP healing, it is simple w/less casting, high output & WoTC…you will have much fun.
except when you get trained with multiple stuns, thats not fun.
I’m a shaman with a purge and the shortest interrupt in the game. If I’m not using them liberally then I’m doing something wrong. I purge priest and mage bubbles and I spam resto druid HoT’s. Sometimes it’s all I do while someone else does the killing. I keep them as defenseless as I can for as long as I can.
Because mana is no longer an issue. Back when spells actually sapped your mana, and we had abilities to drain mana too, it wasn’t too difficult to push a healer into burning their pool. Now? They can just spam all day long.
Right. However, the purpose of rocket science is to make things go forward. The purpose of pvp is to kill people. Do you see how balance has destroyed the purpose?
