What is even the point of having a healer ‘role’ to fill, if they are supposed to be doing damage!? This to me is laughable! If heals have to do heals and damage then dps have to heal too! That’s fair.
The constant ‘attack’ to disintegrate all traditional roles or what has been considered ‘normal’ for centuries… in life is just reflective of a ‘victim’ and immature mentality IMO. So much of this is drowning the game too… the comments to complain about everything that has been…to turn it all upside down, inside out…

Absolutely. Cinderbrew 1st boss phase or Spires of Ascension last boss phase if you’re a dps that has heals and you have already done the mechanic you should be off healing rather than standing around and doing nothing. It’s just that in most situations it is far more valuable for dps to be attacking rather than healing.
This also applies to dps group healing/mitigation abilities like nature’s vigil, vampiric embrace, and mass barrier. They offer nothing in terms of dps, but if you aren’t using them you’re trolling your group and it doesn’t matter that your role is “damage dealer”.
You should be doing everything you can to make the key successful and this applies equally to every person in the group no matter their role.
I love that this is a ‘it’s not fair’ heals just standing around. Gee. I never did… got sick of always being the go to for ‘fail’… not that I didn’t make mistakes…but I healed for from BC to Legion…some of SL… finally just got tired of the flack. Period. This will REALLY help ‘heals’ out … it is ALWAYS ‘It’s not fair’… says who?
I used to love dpsing as a healer but times have changed really. I feel like I can’t say much about it without into a fight on here since everyone has an opinion but Blizz decided to go this direction and it’s cool with me. What I wouldn’t like is for Blizz to give healers more damage and then retune the dungeons to account for it. Healer damage should be more of a cherry on top of your ice cream and not the cone holding the thing together. If my analogy makes sense. I don’t want groups getting mad about healer damage or feeling it’s crucial
@Korrath , you don’t need it, but a lot of healers find it fun to do damage…just like you don’t need for dps to do their max potential to time most keys, it just helps…just like dps don’t need to use their defensives in a +10, it just makes healing easier.
WHen exactly do you need healer damage to make or break the run?
I have never known a TW, or normal or even a heroic dungeon run that failed because of low healer dps.
If you doubled healer damage it’s true that you wouldn’t be able to “feel” much of a difference in the run, but people would probably start caring a lot more about how much damage their healer is doing.
