Well it all started with “marketed rarity”. When they first put it in the game it had an unusually high drop rate, like 20% so people were getting it left and right. Then they came to forums and were all “I’m so sick of this stupid thing dropping where is my helm?! Grrr!!!”
They readjusted the drop rate to “laughably low” and a legend was born.
I like uncomplicated mounts. A horse that can function as a flying mount is something I always wanted. While I’ve enjoyed invincible for many years, I really want this one for my lock.
I like its legs. lol
HH Mount is one of the best low profile mounts.
It doesn’t take up half your screen with wings and tails and whatnot. It also flies in a nice straight line, no swerving or bobbing like some mounts.
Also some people have been chasing it for over a decade.
For me, it was the first mount I got when you could not use flying mounts on Azeroth save Northrend. It meant bar space for other stuff and only one mount to use for all situations.
Now a days…only two mounts have the same look. It and original Midnight.
I just tried and dang my luck. Lol. Yes I’m gonna try get that mount. Just cause’

I believe it sh!ts gold and pukes epics, but otherwise yeah… it’s just another flying horse.
Wanna read something truly disgusting? Came across a guy today who got both the HH mount AND Soundless mount on the same day. Let that sink in.

Headless Horseman mount was [Patch 2.3.0]( (2007-11-13) During TBC. You notice the date was after Halloween of 2007…so first mounts were not seen till Oct 2008.
I got both Firelands Mounts same day on two Druids that had never been in the Firelands before.
back in the day, it was one of very few undead horses alliance could have, and it just looked cool. i think it was the first flying horse, too.
these days though, its appearance is really starting to lack. i wish they’d update all the old things in the game.
It may seem plain but it has an appeal. Those who played back when he was first introduced know this.

I normally go years without even seeing the thing, but I was in a group last night where someone got it. So there’s that.
I got one years ago. There was a short period that you could run the dungeon many times a day and get it. The old guild ran it a bunch of times until everyone got it.
I used to use it as my rp unholy dk mount. now i rarely use it.
The mount matches well with DK’s and it flies!
It’s like a better version of the Fiery Warhose from old Kharazan because it can fly, love undead horses that fly like that and I think that’s also why I like the Paladin class order hall mounts because they’re holy horses that fly.

And the animations on it are still awesome. While I love Invincible’s aesthetics… his animations are off. When running, his body doesn’t move but his legs pivot. While flying, it like he’s trying to rapidly trot along. HH mount, it’s like a gentle gallop in the sky.
