Weird question for help here. I’m finding when I’m behind the gates waiting for a bg to start, if I press my arcane intelligence button or slow fall button, the majority of the time I then have to click on myself or someone else to then use it. Is there a way around this?
I’m not sure if it’s related but, also before the gates open and for every bg, my characters head is always looking to the side like I’m targeting a PC/NPC. If I then click on another player his focus switched to them but, then he goes to looking off into the distance again when I stop targeting. I don’t see anyone else’s toon doing it so what the bloody hell is my character looking at? Anyone else having this issue?
Bizarre - sounds like you’re auto-targeting something (or dropping target?) right upon entry. Pressing AI generally just applies it you yourself/your team - no self-clicking required. (Slowfall obv has to be manually targeted but will always default to you unless you have an ally targeted.) Have you checked your addons? Could be one of them isn’t updated or is bugging out…could something have accidentally/randomly happened to your keybinds or something?
Thanks for the reply. Yeah both scenarios are weird. The ‘having to click’ happens about 50:50 and the head looking off to the side, every bloody time. Funny though, once the bg starts I have no issue I’ll have a sift through my add ons when I get a chance and report back in. Thanks again. I appreciate it any help.
I know I have a similar issue from time to time, and I think I pegged where my issues stemmed down from, so I will share (in case you might use the same or similar).
I use a fishing addon called Better Fishing - which has a 1 button option for casting and reeling in. It seems this addon always turns on 1 option which constantly drives me crazy. it’s under Options/Controls - See if Enable Interact Key is checked off for you to not (I always want it unchecked, otherwise I get similar issues to what youre reporting when i try to buff)
The reason it does this is because you can target someone outside of your group to give them AI if wanted. I suggest making a macro. I haven’t tested this but something like:
/cast [@target,help] [@player] Arcane Intellect
This will default to casting on yourself if you have no-one targeted, however if you target someone it will cast on them instead. I personally use a clickable weakaura for buffs with a similar built-in macro
I know there was a bug involving the Inspired Intellect talent that made it fall off of you if you cast Arcane Intellect on another person. Otherwise, I’m not sure.
This was it! Fixed it. Even the turned head that said I just did an Eye of the Storm where the UI went purple and stayed that way couldn’t see a thing. Bloody small indie company indeed!
Heads up though: It randomly turns back on for various reasons (changing chars, reloading, load screens) - so if it starts up again, just re-unclick (i swear im getting carpal tunnel from having to do this a few dozen times a day)
