Have to sign on as an admin to patch?

I ran the repair tool over night and went to log in before work just to see that the play button said update instead. I went to update and now its telling me I need to log on as an Administrator to update the game.

I completely exit out of the launcher and run it as an admin and its still telling me I need to log on as an administrator. I’m the only person that uses this computer and the only account on the computer, my antivirus is coming back with a clean bill of health as well so I don’t have anything wrong with my computer either but it won’t let me patch my game.

Is it possible that the folder was set as read only. Windows update might have done this, but unfortunately I’m not sure. You can check the folder properties. And have you restarted your pc to see of that helps.

I did yeah, restarted my computer and eventually had to just completely reinstall WoW and now it is patching and installing with no issues. I assume as well it was set to read only which is odd, but stuff happens sometimes.
