Have fishing players always been this nice?

Yes

Despite playing on pvp realms i have always, always been able to stand next to a hordie and fish alongside them

This hasnt changed in retail/DF

Fishers stick together

Unless it’s a pool of elemental air
Then they have to die

When i fish in the barrens for deviates i always look out for the poor terrified level 15s and kill mobs threatening them

it USED to be that way. Rule 1. If someone is fishing a pod, move on. It’s rude to start fishing there. In BC I fed 2 huge guilds (that opened aq). I wasn’t high enough to not die lol. So I had this pool of water I could sit and fish without mobs smooshing me. I paid for flying that way. I also remind people of rule number 1. People used to bounce up and down on ur bobber and follow u around. The people you’ve experienced so far are most likely old school. (fishing and cooking weren’t a must have thing,

One last thing. In Legion and the moving fisher you needed for rep for all brought people together. It went faster and everything was copasetic. In all honesty - I came to wow for the fishing lol. Back at launch my son wanted it. So I bought two copies. I would play on his when he was at school, so shortly after I made my account and had her transferred. True fisherpeople stay together.

back in the day doing the Terror fishing daily in Wintergrasp, at least on my realm at the time, other fishers wouldn’t mind stacking up for protection. less often during the actual battle, opposing team wouldn’t bother fishers outside of the building capture zones.

also fishers always seemed chill at the Dalaran fountain

well that pool is too often not stocked at all when I go there but yeah it is the rush rush mentality that generally attracts the trolls.

Fishing is one of the most fun aspects of the game.

Using Levitate to get my Priest out in the water for some quiet relaxation.

The rest of my characters use a Fishing Raft.

I love fishing. I tend to be nice. Maybe there is something to it.

For the most part yah, but I remember some doozies back in the day of pvp servers and the Sunday fishing tournys down in booty bay… c.u.t. - t.h.r.o.a.t. didn’t begin to describe it lol.

Only time I see this happening is when people start attacking the lurker fish that people are harpooning out of water.

It’s so annoying when people are too lazy to get their own harpoon.

Like do these people attacking them not understand how much more easier it is to pull fish out of water to insta kill and then not have to get into water to go loot fish. :dracthyr_nod:

Yes and no. We’re not that nice, we’re chilling and it’s the type of gameplay that allows for mood most the time…

Pool competition is annoying, people not doing their part with these new fish restocking is even more annoying because we got to babysit nets now.

But in general we’re watching videos or listening to music without being disturbed by surrounding. Or chatting with the long time fellow Fisher we know.

I usually grip them farther out into the water because I’m an a$$

The one good thing to come out of garrison lunker fushing and carried on to legion
Group fishing.

Very chill peeps. I was just randomly tossing my lure out not trying to hit a fishing pool someone else was fishing and they apologized for fishing up the pool. That I wasn’t even aiming for, but my bobber did get a few feet next to. It made me chuckle. They were at the pool first, so I wanted them to get it.

Jamie pull up the video of the fishing tournie where the guy got caught cheating.

At least you admit it. I’ll give you a point.

I had one guy attack me at the big fishing hole and then run over by a couple other horde players. They continued to just sit there and fish while I killed him. Never making a move to help him. They understood.

I’ve never fished around other players. I am not really into fishing in games even though for some reason fishing is considered an endgame content of sorts. Never understood that but just look at BDO and half the population is fishing and AFK fishing at that, lol.

But have you ever seen fishermen fighting? I haven’t but I mean fishing is suppose to be relaxing and the quiet locations normally kind of put you in a trance. Who’s going to fight when you get a similar affect to smoking w@#d. :smoking: :shamrock:

I used to fish when I was younger. Actually caught three sun fish on one hook. We tossed two back and kept one that just stayed in the freezer forever. Another time I was about 10 feet from shore and cast my line back and as I cast it forward I had somehow caught a little tiny fish behind me. Only two fishing stories I got cause normally didn’t catch anything.

I’m just picturing the other fishers doing the “Yup. Yep. Mhm” from King of the Hill
