Have fans ever killed a race for you?

I’m sorry sis, it’s just a generalization :joy:
Us Panda’s seem to get a bit of a rep for being trolls out here too

this is a discussion i’ve had elsewhere about video game fandoms in general. and no. i don’t let fanbases being cringe detract from my enjoyment of something. i like what i like and i won’t let other people dictate that for me.

I can’t really say any fan of the races have really ruined them for me but i can say playing on the horde side for the first time was a nightmare. I haven’t touched that side in over 10 years.

Okay a few things:

  1. Mechagnome fans are easily the most chill and positive fans of the AR requests I’ve seen on these forums. People like you on the other hand make the Sethrak fanbase look horribly toxic.

They’re not even the mechagnomes of old. Now we have two of the same race that nuked their own Kingdoms. Joy. Bliss.

I somehow doubt this would matter, because you are saying you are upset at them because they came in place of sethrak.

Meanwhile Sethrak are sitting over there with their big puppy-dog eyes, looking at the sky, wondering what the world outside of Vol’dun is like.

I am pretty sure this idea of sethrak being cute is only a side effect mentality of them possibly being thought to be paired with vulpera.

(Indignation): I will have you know there is not a spot of rust on my glorious golden finish! Well, elementium, but it looks golden. Also, I find the idea of coming from the mind of Tim Burton to be quite flattering.

(Statement): Mechagon has not been, ‘nuked.’ It is quite habitable.

(Conciliatory): I do hope they are made into an Allied Race some day. Perhaps we’ll even meet some elsewhere in Azeroth that’ll be more inclined to join the Alliance. Right now, the Sethrak we know of are, sadly, neck deep in Horde territory.

See what I mean? Gnomes infesting everywhere. Time to grab the Flame throwers and the AC/DC; flush these buggers out of their tunnels.

(Solicitation): Might I interest you in the wonders of Mechanization? We could replace that arm with one that has a built-in flamethrower at the wrist. With the right modifications we could even make it adjust to a more compact size if you choose to use your human form at any time.

I think the easiest solution is to stop caring what people think of you.

(Statement): Unit Exacitor agrees. My storage for other people’s comments has never been lighter since I programed a filter for undesired comments that hold no value for self-improvement.

All High Elf fans. Every last one of them.

Blood Elves.
Used to love them. Had a ton of alts for them. Then I made the mistake of roleplaying as one; people were treating it like human house RP and it was petty drama non-stop. Absolutely nothing like that I thought it’d be with the whole borderline vampiric aristocrat elves struggling to survive and rebuild. (…and then the whole race moved away from that in general in game. Oops.)

Then the whole skin colour thing for void elves happened and their hissy-fit and meltdowns on twitter was even worse than GD, and I just tossed all mine out except my BG hunter and my RP warrior. (I had to lock mine down, and then I decided to say screw it and let them scream about how offended they were by dark skin /and/ Alliance players getting High Elves at the same time.)

Going to enjoy my alt belftears though for BG spamming.

I also can’t stand orcs - which is hilarious because I am one right now for racials, and I did actually go back velf and my armory hasn’t updated. Something about the majority of players I’ve met who main them for enjoying them is uh…
Dude, lay off the blood and thunder.

Kul Tiran fans make me happy.

Tauren players I’ve noticed only seem to exist on the two extremes. They are either super super chill folk, who never cause problems and are universally loved, or they are pure toxicity in troll form. There is never an inbetween. Fortunately the super chill ones tend to outnumber the toxic ones, but it still exists in that odd pattern.

Blood Elves. They used to be so regal… now they’re just a poor excuse for people who wanna be edgy. I still love their lore though.

(Humor): Like a pizza cutter; all edge and no point.

One could argue that the only reason people want them, is because they cant have them.

gasp

I’ve grown really cold towards most blood elf/void elf players because of the large number of bad apples. I know since they’re likely, combined, the most played group so you’re going to statistically run into more bad apples, but I just seem to find the worst of the lot between the forums and in game. I really do not like a lot of them because it feels like they’d rather get all of the focus and attention and let the other races in the game die out.

There are plenty of good ones, but I admit my bias against a lot of them.
