My issue is with this character that I am posting on. I have requested help at least 3 times and am getting no response.
The issue is 3 fold:
Even after having Mist-Folding Goggles in my bag I am unable to see nodes in Vale of Eternal Blossoms. I have leveled my profession to 600 only to find out my profession doesn’t function.
I have no tooltips. When I run instances and hover to see what gear has dropped I have no way of knowing what is being rolled out. When I hover nothing happens. Rolls time out by the time I ask people in the group to explain to me what has dropped.
I have a constant mailbox icon that shows I have mail in my box but when I open the box nothing is there. The icon remains constant even though the mailbox is empty.
I am well aware that this is a “Bug Forum” issue, however, I am getting no response and no resolution to my issues. The character is playable but due to the bugs, defeats the purpose of going through the pains of 90 levels to get here.
I have reloaded, relogged, reset my modem, performed a interface repair, deleted the wtf, removed all addons and have reviewed my in-game settings.
What can I do to get help with these issues? I spent 3 weeks leveling this character to 90 and additional time and effort into leveling the profession skills in order to function yet the character does not function.
I’m a paying for the right to use the character and the professions. Why am I not getting what I am paying for?
It’s a little unclear if you followed all the steps in a full UI reset. This would be the first step. Make sure you do all of them.
For the mail icon, do you have anyone on your blocked character list? If they sent something that might be why it is not showing for you but is technically still there.
Edit: also, I think you need to wear the goggles in order for them to work. Just being in bags likely isn’t enough.
Assuming you mean Mist-Piercing Goggles (http s://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/item=87213/mist-piercing-goggles)? These allow you to see additional nodes across Pandaria, not specific to the Vale.
The Vale is heavily phased, so make sure you have no quests that may be putting your character into a different phase. Sometimes, even dropping the quest isn’t enough to unphase you. You may have to complete the questline.
Having said that…
These would seem to indicate a corrupted UI. You should do a Full UI Reset (http s://us.support.blizzard.com/en/help/article/7549). The main step is after you login with the fresh UI, check to see if these issues have been solved. If they have, then it’s an add-on issue and you can start narrowing it down.
If not, then you can move onto the next phase of troubleshooting. This is the first necessary step.
There is usually no response in the Bug Report Forum. The only time there will be a response is if they need further information, which is very rare.
The resolution would be them replicating the bug, finding the problem, solving the problem, then testing the solution for deployment. It’s not an instant process, and there’s nothing they can do until it’s solved.
Technically, you are paying for access to the servers. There’s no guarantee of a specific server, character, and profession being available.
However, that is not how they handle things. They take Bug Reports seriously, and will do everything they can to fix it, if it’s possible. It simply takes a lot longer than you are expecting.
This item’s tooltip is a little weird. It says “Equip: Allows you to see additional mining nodes and herbs while in Pandaria.” Then, there’s a little flavor text below that saying: “While these goggles are very fashionable, they don’t need to be worn to receive their special benefit.”
So I think it means you should equip it once, then you can replace it and keep the benefit. I’m actually quite confident this is the case, because it’s a Binds On Use item, so you need to use it (equip it) in order to activate the benefit.
This is really one of a few items I can think of that behaves this way.
Back to the troubleshooting, have you ever actually put on the goggles? Do they say soulbound or bind on equip in your inventory.
Edit: double check to make sure you have mining nodes trackable as well. I’m unsure how classic layout is set up but you should probably have toggles near your minimap somewhere.
They were actually agreeing and stating that the Goggles do not need to be continuously worn in order to benefit from their ability to see hidden nodes.
They do however, need to be bound to you. Which means equipping them once to bind them to you.
I’ve had Goggles in my bags since the original iteration of MoP. They are soulbound to me, but I do not need them equipped to see the hidden nodes.
I would advise losing the attitude if you want any help whatsoever. The regulars that post here do so of their own free will, and the kindness of their hearts. This is Not a direct line to speak with Blizzard directly so if I were you, I’d take it down a notch.
Just a regular player who, for some reason, finds it satisfying to help players who are here to whine and not actually listen when they are given help.
No, but you need to quip them once first to get the benefit. They are BoE, so you don’t get any benefit if they are not bound to you. Equip them first, then you can remove them for a normal head piece with stats on it.
It absolutely affects the nodes you see if the Vale is phased. This may not be the issue, but it’s definitely a possibility that you can check (and potentially SOLVE) yourself.
Also, the nodes that you can see with googles (after they’ve been equipped once) are not the default nodes. They are called “Mist-Covered” nodes, which is how you know if the googles are working properly. It still would not have an effect on all nodes in one zone. There’s something else that’s causing you to not see the nodes in Vale.
o.O The only condescension I see here is from you, in this message.
You have already done what? Because you did not say anywhere if you actually equipped the googles or not, and the Full UI Reset was not completed the correct way, based on what you put in the original post.
