Same. And it’s weird because it’s also the only time, because I’ve never been that invested in any of WoW’s stories or characters. Including Ysera!
Whoever designed that cinematic did a great job if it could even get someone who didn’t particularly care about the character to get emotional over her death.
There’s a questline that ends in A Brother’s Grief in the Priory of Sacred Flame about grieving the loss of a brother. My own brother had passed last summer about a month earlier so it hit me pretty hard. It’s a really well done questline.
Next alt I take to 80 is getting a temporary xp freeze (they level too quickly) and is headed to Legion. I owe that to my server’s namesake at the very least.
Ysera died and Elune sent her soul to Ardenweald. Her death was so traumatic and literally such a nightmare that the nightmares followed her to tue shadowlands and her soul was beginning to fade aka she was abolit to experience true death, erasure from existence until the Winter Queen sacrificed some of her power to save her because her subjects begged her to do so. Now Ysera is forever tied to her and ardenweald. Ysera is dead.
Seeing Jainas mom realize she screwed up bad and that her daughter was just doing what she thought was right even if she hated herself for it, and giving her a big ole hug of understanding certainly had ninjas cutting onions near me.
Getting to hear/see Jaina’s internal monologue and grief over feeling like she’s failed so often and was just never ever good enough is something that really hit home for me personally.
