I’m having a blast with remix. Compared to regular retail, it’s been faster to gear ultimately and I’ve been doing M+ content which I’ve moderately avoided on the regular version.
I’ve been using Completionism and am almost maxed on knowledge points this round and am continuing to build up boundless power. I login to the regular retail to work profs, run a guild raid, and that’s about it.
Anyone else moderately abandoning regular retail?

I havent totally. I usually do 2 mythic raids for vault and at least 4 +10 for 2 more slots but last week I just did the 1 raid bosses. Been spending 99% of my time in lemix. Im not no-lifing it but up to about 33% ver and can solo mythic dungeons. its a blast
the only thing i was doing in retail anymore was running 3 tier 11 delves and 1 tier 8 for crests and vault and LFR to finish up the rep levels. now i just run the weekly LFR quick so i can hit the rep cap before midnight.
I logged in for a few minutes on Tuesday to check my vault from a few weeks ago and buy some stuff on the trading post. The All Hallows event feels severely broken lately so I haven’t even bothered with it in the last few years. I also don’t raid in Retail so this event with buying gear for chips has no interest to me. I’ll go back during pre-patch or maybe to check out housing.

I’ve spent months in regular retail to only get to 717 ilvl and still in what I suspect are suboptimal stats (ran sims, but sim != how I play). Had a bad time in M+ (healer, came back S3, very behind).
Remix, I feel ahead in some ways (not crazy amounts, but enough for me) and the gating (as unpopular as it is) helps me focus and prioritize things. I have 1 toon approaching 300 vers and another at 100. I run raids and mythics on the one near daily and on the other as time allows. 30/32 IK which helps a lot.

I will be playing retail in a couple of weeks when the yearly anniversary event comes round as I am still after the remodeled tier sets, and then it’s right back to Remix.

I’ve never really mogged due to the amount of gold it eats, but in remix it’s free. So I have and that’s been nice.

Transmog is the true end game. If you want to get into it, roll a void elf, they get a 50% discount on transmog. Also the weapon is the most expensive piece to transmog so if you don’t do that it’s not that bad.
I abandoned it months ago, I was unsubbed until remix. I honestly get like 1-2 months of playtime out of every patch these days before I get bored and quit, the game lacks staying power in my life anymore

I’ve done some delves on my main and that’s it. I’m enjoying Lemix too much to do anything else in retail right now.
I have tried. Last week and this week I have sat out on my guild’s mythic progression, sick kids needing me and having to walk away. I would feel bad in the middle of a mythic araz pull and have my kid start vomiting or something and have to literally let go of the mouse and get up. I tried grouping for some delves but groups are scarce either at the time i am playing or just in general because of Lemix so I moved on to m+ to try and fill vault slots. That was laughable. Spent an hour doing nothing and got bored, so i went right back to Lemix.
No, I’m abandoning Remix more.
What, do I need bronze for something? Hell no.
Did my +40 key, not gonna bother with the +49 until very late.
Power gains are guaranteed to increase with more mythic raids releasing.
And power gains might increase on top of that in December.
All reasons to kinda autopilot remix and do either daily mythic raids only, or nothing at all.
I’ve gone back to retail from remix. I found I just didn’t want to grind any more in remix.
For some reason it just wasn’t as interesting as MoP remix.

I did some achievements towards the expansion meta that I have to wait on weekly resets to finish.
One friend that had no interest in remix said the game was dead with a lot fewer M+ groups so he just doesn’t log in at all much anymore.
I never got 3k so I’ll have to go back to it and try to get that before Midnight.
Although remix is also boring so I mostly just do daily raids. I did some M+ farming but don’t really feel pushing to 999 that fast. If they hadn’t nerfed the 1m+ farms I might have done that.
I have for the moment, until Legion Remix ends. Since the way things are broken up, I can not just grab everything from the event and then be done.

That’s what I’ve heard. It gets really expensive quick. Remix makes it free, so it works with my mental budget.

I missed the MoP remix. The remix format works nicely for me. It’s more predictable than regular retail, which I like. I know people are going to Zerg thru content, but at least I can survive, which is not the case in regular for me.
Remix, I can move up 10+ ilvl in a day and see the difference where at best weekly I move up 1-2 in retail and don’t see much difference. I think that’s the key for me - I suspect the things I like are the very things that others really dislike:
- I know I can predictably move my ilvl up.
- At max level, I can farm (predictably) to get towards better stats, but the ones I have really don’t make or break my character (minus jewelry, but even suboptimal ones give the same benefit, just less stamina).
- I can easily make enough progress without a cap with lower end content (lower M+ keys still drop the same things as the high end keys).
- No repairs + lockout is daily, so missing a boss frustrates me far less.
- I can buff my character up enough that I’m not affected by others’ chaos (playing a healer in main, so NOT the case there).
(I dunno why quoting isn’t working)
I’ve enjoyed Remix quite a bit. I have not played Retail since S1. Basically got KSM and yeeted out. This game mode is 100% more appealing to me. First time in a long time that I’ve basically done every single quest in the available content – and I had a lot of fun doing it cause me and my buddy made it a co-op thing.
I just want IP to be account bound though. It’s the biggest stick in the mud in this game mode.
I like to play multiple classes and this IP grind is actively making the game kinda miserable at this point.
The first like 70% of the IP grind is really the worst imo. Cause it’s way harder to get into a group with low ilvl and low vers.

I find it amazing to still be hearing this 3 weeks into this thing. I am 740 with 495% and I don’t join raids. I always start my own. I like to start with EN M/H/N then move to NH M/H/N then finally end at ToV M/H/N. I always invite 2-3 pumpers like myself then literally its first come first serve on invites. After mythic I always fill the group to help people in your situation out.

Starting groups is really hard for me, using the premade group tool in general is actually a big pain point in this game for me… and it’s hard to really explain why. Also most people don’t care so I won’t bore you with the details.
I like to make alts though, so I’ve done/am doing the fresh 80 grind on my DK, Monk, Druid, Warrior, DH, Shadow Priest, Paladin, and eventually the others as well.
While there are people who do take poorly geared players along, not all do. While it might be frustrating to hear people complain about it – it’s very frustrating to have experienced it multiple times and still see people being so dismissive of it. Especially when for some people it is a much more difficult aspect of the game than it is for others.
I’ve temporarily paused my Remix playtime until Legionfall comes out. I have 32/36 IK, about 300 vers, and enough Bronze to get the rest of what I want once LF/Argus are released.
