Huh? What? Gnomer is not a pre endgame dungeon lol.
Wouldn’t an end game dungeon be UBRS or Stratholm?
So would not pre-end game be a leveling dungeon?
Gnomeregan is the hardest for me to get through because I hate the aesthetics of it so much. It doesn’t even cheer me up knowing that I’m slaughtering gnomes.
No jokes, I’m not understand the hate for Ulda. I’m not trying to sound like I’m amazing by any stretch, I’ve struggled my fair share in deadmines runs, but I never thought Uldaman to be a major major hassle. Maybe I got lucky and had groups that knew what they were doing idk.
My first thought was gnomer. It’s confusing, the hallways with multiple levels and patrols always wind up with a wipe pull. Running it as a hunter was just a nightmare because pets seemed to just randomly path over to mobs just to keep people on their toes. The dumb alarm bots. Hated gnomer. Typing this is making me hate gnomer again. Perks of horde, never thinking about gnomer and just doing the razor fen dungeons
Uldaman. The last boss was absurdly tuned. I couldn’t even solo him at level 60.
Sunken Temple. Vanilla ST was brutally long with big pulls, mobs that fear, a final boss with a banish, and those damn zg ghosts that would murder you if you weren’t paying attention.
Uldaman is the answer to this question. I tried it a few times and never finished it once in Vanilla. Maybe in Classic I will finally complete this dungeon.
Unfortunately I believe they nerfed the alarm bots well before 1.12, if memory serves.
I remember always being weary of pet classes there. A blissfully unaware Warlock or Hunter would wipe the group in a heartbeat. Guildmates and other folks , whom I trusted were np.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, that actually kinda sucks… I rather enjoyed the nail biting dread of those little devils.
Full Gnomeregan, Sunken Temple, and the BRD Emperor are all close ones to call in my book.
i did so many gnomer runs in tbc era, when it was still just as bad as in vanilla, that i learned it really well. actually started looking forward to it cause it was a great place to farm cloth, engineering components, and low level gems/pearls, particularly as alliance since it had a vendor you could sell to and a mailbox to mail junk to alts in the clean room. was the mailbox there in vanilla?
respawn timers were generally nerfed at some point as well
it used to be if you wiped late into a dungeon attempt, you either went back through all the respawned mobs or (most often), you just called it
BRD respawns were soul crushing.
the hardest one…i’m going with mauradon, not because the mobs were that hard (though some were) but because if you died, you had to run back in spirit form from outside the whole place, and everything is grey, so dont have the benefit of seeing the colors to know which portal you are by. have trouble recognizing the areas where the portals are. should go there today on a high level and memorize the locations. to this day, i only find the entrances by running around till one appears
Yeah reading the patch notes regarding the dungeons, they nerfed them a lot more than I remembered.
They should use the original spawn rates, and original NPC damage values and original NPC pack locations / pack density / pack numbers / numbers of packs.
Absolutely, it still is the worst instance to die in by far. Wiping in this place was such a massive hassle for this reason alone.

At least initially.
I wouldnt mind a later nerf as a catchup mechanic.
Zul’Farrak could be fun sometimes when everyone decides to click the graves at once, or if you pull too much at the top of the stairs where Bly is.
