Hardcore should have level scaling

So right this. Retail is … Just try the NE starter area in Retail. You’re 'ported out of every danger, given free fall down from that tree, golden arrows show you where to go, mouseover what to kill. Levelling in Retail is a parody of a game.

Also scaling is one of the main reasons I quit Retail so NO THANKS, no scaling in Classic!

It’s harder in raid mechanics, harder in dungeons (m+), harder in pvp, the whole combat requires you to be on tip toes, several mechanics at once, complex rotations.

That’s why I’m here tbh, it’s much simpler, slower, I can relax and level.
At least Classic has meaningful leveling experience. For some reason they make retail leveling so easy you can’t die, but then you reach endgame and it’s pain town for new people.

Nah, I like level scaling in retail. It actually makes the leveling journey at least a little more engaging, but mainly being able to level anywhere you want in the world without worrying about level discrepancies is the main selling point.

Its not engaging at all the leveling in retail is a dull joke with no challenge whatsoever.

Many of the things that kill people in hc are due to a lack of level scaling. Son of Arugal (a level 24 elite wandering the level 10-15 zone) has a huge body count.

Retail is the opposite of classic. The leveling is a complete joke and they removed all engagement and difficulty. But the endgame M+ and heroic/mythic raiding are substantially harder than classic dungeons/raids. Classic has a harder leveling experience but the endgame raids are mechanically much easier. People like to claim on forums that classic leveling is super easy, but there’s a reason most people don’t make it past 10-13 in hardcore.

Easy compared to retail, lul ?

You have to be trolling.

Retail is like kindergarden compared to classic which is like advanced placement high school leveling.

Seriously? When did this nonsense start?

Don’t know. I stopped playing somewhen in BfA and returned for Classic. When all the chaos with the server “consolitations” happened, I made this US toon to go here and fight for the EU RP servers as the GMs did not then read the EU forums.
I quit (again after Wrath arrived) and have now returned for HC. So I never played more than those ten painfilled levels in Retail since 2018.

Tl;dr. Sometimes after BfA

Disagree. The original advertisement for World of Warcraft was the world was ever changing and evolving.

But something like classic, we don’t expect it to be evolving but persistent.

Pull 10 same level mobs in DF with reasonable gear and the mobs will die.
Do that in classic, you will die very quickly unless REALLY good at kiting.

Mass pull if you are bored.

Retail leveling is horrifically bad. And I don’t mean just “ha ha quick and easy”. It’s completely broken all around.

Retail is 10000x easier? you do time walking and lvl to 60 in 5 hours than go on cringe litty dragonland till 70.

Retail lvling is not even leveling it’s braindead. Retail is made for actual grandmas

what a troll

The more “game” that is blatantly noticeable to your brain, the less you get immersed and attached.

That is why vanilla wow feels the way it does and retail feels the way it does.

ever0changing and evolving is not mmorpg.

So laughably incorrect. Perhaps reading all the rest of the comments might help you? If you think retail is harder at anything other than raid mechanics, you’re just flat out trolling.

Retail is purposely easier, intended for the younger demographic. Cutsie pets, pet battles and all the stuff to attract the 10-16 audience. Being able to pull 10 mobs and do a /flex emote and they all die. C’mon man, quit trolling.

worst hardcore suggestion ever :expressionless: that’s really impressive

Stop being lazy and run to other zones. You need to go to both continents doing quests in both areas of green quest level before moving up. You don’t get to stand still mindlessly bopping a button like retail until max level.

Level scaling is lazy development and a terrible experience period as a player.

It’s no different than downloading one of those quest add-ons. Only they made it the default for retail, can turn it off in the options menu though.
