I feel the best way to handle HC official servers is simply for blizz to recruit the author(s) of the addon, allowing them to bypass the limitations that creating an addon is restricted to.
I feel the best way to handle hc official servers is to have the only change be: If you die, you can’t rez. Then people follow the extra rules they want for themselves. So, the freedom to play how you want still exists. In any “Hardcore” version of any game, the only factor that is 100% the same is this 1 single rule.
or… just create a server where if you die you can’t continue playing or let transfer to another realm non-hc.
Then you can stop using imposing rules because there is no need for them anymore
As long as you dont call it Hardcore or Ironman I have no problem with death= delete only Softcore
This is completely wrong. Hardcore has always been known as death = delete. Any extra rules can be applied, but the base “Hardcore” still stands firm as the name.
Your completely wrong and to call the death=delete rule the only rule is disrespectful to players who have completed Hardcore and Ironman via the real rulesets.
Go kid yourself elsewhere Softcore andy.
You’re clearly trolling. The term “hardcore” only means when you die, your character stays dead. It doesn’t make you any better than anyone else to have completed it, either.
The imposing rules are what make it difficult, a no death challenge is meaningless when you can just get funneled gear, enchants, and consumes to be borderline invincible while leveling.
I disagree. It’s fun to play no-death runs. Leaving the official hc server as ONLY no-death, without ANY extra rules, would allow for people to add as many or as few rules as they want. It allows for more options and variations of the hardcore challenge. If someone wants to do only no death, and another wants to do a naked no death, then both would be possible. It wouldn’t be possible if any forced gatekeeping rules were also applied.
Continue beleiving your Hardcore xD
Like leveling with 1 life, buying gear on the AH, trading gear and consumables while leveling with a group is sooooo hard.
Its not Hardcore. Keep trying to convince yourself its Hardcore.
Why are you trying so hard to gatekeep? Is it because of the “hard” part of the name?
Because people put effort into completing Hardcore and Ironman acheivements with the full ruleset.
Those that want only one rule death=delete are calling themselves Hardcore and Ironman. Death = Delete only rule is neither.
The above is not Hardcore. Its Softcore.
I’m sure it can be.
But that’s not the sole reason people play hardcore, which was made popular by streamers using a specific addon with specific rules, that experience is what’s drawing many players, not just a simple “no death” run.
That’s just telling blizzard to half measure the experience and for us to keep using the addon.
But that’s not what’s gathering all the support for HC, the HC community is almost entirely revolving around the rule set of an addon, thats the community that has sent this whole discussion to the moon.
Hardcore servers should be based on what the majority of that community does.
Softcore = you can die. Hardcore = don’t die. This is the minimum requirements to these terms. I can see you’re trying to gatekeep this, so I will no longer be responding to your incorrect statements any further. If you decide to discuss something else, I will respond then.
I disagree. The addon still works. So people can just use the addon, if they want extra rules.
You can disagree all you want, hardcore and deathless are not the same thing.
Cry, moan, doesn’t matter, at the end of the day, Hardcore has a rule set, deathless runs have a single rule, and are not the same.
And if hardcore servers appear, the overwhelming majority of player involve in HC, want a true HC experience, which deathless alone, is not.
Tell me this. What does it matter if the server is just “hardcore” or “hardcore plus”? Why force a ruleset when the only thing it “needs” is the no-deaths rule. With the one hardcore no-death rule, people are free to not use the auction house, free to do a single dungeon of each type, free to no group up. But, it still allows for those who wish to not use these rules, so everyone can be happy. It doesn’t devalue your personal experience, just because others play differently.
Hardcore is hardcore, hardcore plus is something you made up as a red herring.
It’s not “No death” alone that draws players in, it’s a combination of various rules and restrictions to make the challenge hardcore, not just a deathless challenge.
No, not everyone is happy, as blizzard would have put resources into making DEATHLESS servers, instead of HARDCORE servers, HARDCORE being why classic has gotten popular again, and DEATHLESS servers spitting in their faces.
Why are you so caught up on the name? Hardcore has always been known as “no deaths”. Hardcore plus would be where it’s no deaths + <insert rule(s)>
Because it’s a descriptor to clearly indicate two very different concepts.
