While I have yet to start any HC challenge character, I do the LotR challenge on this lad - and it’s similar enough in principle. It most certainly does this! Every milestone already has more meaning in Classic than retail, simply due to the pace and time it takes to achieve them - but add in the threat of death, and how far back your progress could be reset, and it adds an extra layer of accomplishment and attachment. I mean, I’m still using the stinky ol’ strigid owl you get when you first learn taming, because it was such a big accomplishment for me to reach that milestone.
