I actually kinda wish the HC people would have realize their activity is really invasive to certain things but not unwarranted.
I also wish they would have seen rping. Had people show them the light of it. and maybe even dumped hc for it.

I kinda wanted to see if there could have been a marriage through the use of the addon : RP
THis addon allows you to check the mortality tab, to show you can die.
I thought that the HC folks could drop all the weird achievement grabbing mechanism of using their addon and not dieing but following really bad and no fun handicaps.
They could have potentially have started a MORTALITY RP community and that would have probably have been unbelievable.

Let’s address your points -
So, in the context of RP I think we need to separate them from HC players. If the HC game mode is really as “anti-social” as people say, then there would be no reason for the two groups to ever even interact. It would be like if those HC players just weren’t there to begin with. I’m sure there are HC players that also RP, but I feel like those would be the exception, not the rule. It does not necessarily preclude participation in group activities or RP.
There is also more than one way to play HC. The addon specifies no grouping for open world content. You still have to be social and interact to find the group for the dungeon runs you do. Not to mention, some people have their own version of HC that they play that does not have those restrictions.
I do think the RP server was chosen purposefully, but I don’t think their choice was based off of malicious intent. Hardcore has been around since classic re-released in 2019. It just now became extremely popular. Originally, my thoughts are that the server was chosen because those that did not want to be PvP flagged did not have to, and according to Ironforge.pro, BSB was one of the lowest population servers. It seems to me their intent was actually to not interrupt others style of play, so they chose that server. I don’t think the HC mods could foresee how popular this game mode would get. (You can tell it just became super popular, because otherwise, where were all these HC posts before?)
If you are not against HC, you had a very weird way of showing it by attacking the character of every person that argued for it, instead of attacking the argument itself.
Again, I don’t think this was the intention of the HC community. How could they have known how popular it would become? At the end of the day, it is a different way to play a game that we all pay our $15 a month for. Some people don’t like it, and that’s okay, but I don’t think it calls for the HC hate that has been on the forums the past 3 weeks.

Nah. I’ve never been so social in any version of this game since OG wotlk. Whether i’m playing solo or duo, I am active in a guild of people who I don’t know. Trade chat is active with a random conversation at any point. EVERY zone’s general chat is constantly rolling through my chat. Everybody uses /say. Try flaming something that you actually know a thing or two about.
Edit: Hell this is the first post on the WoW forums that i’ve made since TBC because I wanted to see what the direct community thought about this.

I know what hardcore is. I dont have to spend like… a part time job worth of effort to handicap myself in a very old a clunky video game to learn everything about it also. Spending most of my time fighting over trivial npcs. If someone dies it was probably from changing netflix shows.
Just play a game that actually follows in line with what they actually want and it’s called dragons dogma.
Wow is not fun. It just isnt. It’s like something people have turned into a managed activity instead of a playful one.

edit: I am not trying to imply dragons dogma is a lesser game and they have lesser intentions than others. I’m being 100% honest. HC community go play dragons dogma and try HC in that… share you stuff on discord.
Same thing as what their doing in wow but the gameplay is waaaay better for them, it’s roleplay medieval fantasy setting, you get a main pawn that follows you and inherits your behaviors (quite the ai). You can then upload them while you hire 2 more pawns for your party that are other player’s main pawns. It’s SICK. You can review and gift people things for allowing you to use their pawn.
Theres an outstanding character creator that allows you to create whatever kind of main character and main pawn you want. Soundtrack was pretty good. The voice acting is alright, story is very good. Also theres a pretty big upcoming sequel coming out for this game.
This honestly is x10 better than sitting around in an old as dirt mmo that everyone is complaining about.
