Harassment

Any interaction with him using /say or whisper weakens your case. Put him on ignore. Plan your guild activities around instanced content (for awhile).

Also if you have a guild outdoor event turn on war mode and have a friendly opposite faction RP guild nuke him if he finds you.

Oh I do, we all put him on ignore

This isn’t your game. At all. If they are breaking CoC or other rules, report.

Communicating with a player you claim is harassing you …

So what we likely have is someone who antagonized another player looking for sympathy from the community because Blizzard has seen the logs and declined to take action?

This is a “mutual combat” situation to me and the players need to settle this between themselves instead of appealing to a higher authority.

Eh. Before Blizzard is brought into the equation I would think that something like “Please leave me alone” wouldn’t negate any claim you have against a harasser. That’s just victim blaming at that point.

That’s a person trying to reasonably end the situation and there is nothing wrong with that.

To a degree yes, if anyone has a legitimate offense against someone else, report them and show proof, but people like the SCA don’t do that, they took it upon themselves as many have denoted to libel and slander whole guilds across MG, there is in fact proof being worked on to show this (both IC and OOC by the way, spilling into IRL criminal activity).

They went legit kiwifarms on several people, going as far as to falsify and photoshop images to frame people.

If you have an issue, that is what the report button WITH PROOF is for.

“Ongoing” being the operative word here.

That would indicate that following requests to leave you alone it continues. Glad we agree.

What they are looking for in that instance is if you antagonized the situation to an equal degree. Simply saying “I’d like you to stop” is not that.

It has been going on for 4 days, he follows us everywhere. But like I said, we all put him on ignore, others in the community have been harrased by him as well

So this is a one time deal. Just this time?

And there it is.

I think that qualifies as “ongoing” and “do not respond” is the correct action.

We have not responded to him. Only time was one of my officers tried to get him to shoo, but he acted dumb.

And I’d agree with you entirely.

However, I don’t agree with you saying that their prior requests to be left alone negate any claim of harassment. That’s legit victim blaming if there is such a thing at all.

Blizzard will sort it out. Your claim that any response negates harassment is just an indication that you want to excuse the behavior imo.

Just ignore him? Don’t give him attention and put every single one of his chars on ignore.

Like I stated in the threads we have, it just bugs me that trolls can get away with being well…trolls

While it is understandable that harassment in any form is frustrating, it’s important to recognize that Blizzard does take harassment reports seriously and has systems in place to address such issues. The absence of an immediate response may be due to the need for thorough investigation, which can take time. It’s also worth noting that Blizzard’s current reporting and moderation processes, which include investigating player behavior, aim to ensure fairness and consistency.

In regard to the suggestion of automatically phasing players who are ignored, this would be a complex feature to implement. One concern is that it could unintentionally disrupt social and gameplay dynamics, as ignoring someone doesn’t necessarily mean they are engaging in harmful behavior—players might simply prefer not to interact for personal reasons. Furthermore, creating a system where players are automatically phased away from those they ignore could also create challenges in terms of technical implementation and player experience.

Instead, it may be more productive to continue reporting specific incidents of harassment through the in-game reporting system and follow up if necessary. Blizzard also offers tools such as the ability to block or report players for disruptive behavior, which can help prevent further unwanted interactions. If harassment persists despite reporting, it may be helpful to contact Blizzard’s support directly to ensure the situation is addressed as efficiently as possible.

Yeah ignore is the right approach. Perhaps finding a new “meet up” location for your RP group would help as well.

I’ve never had an ignore not end the problem for me in this game.

I just take issue with people that say “Well you asked him to leave you alone and that means you communicated which negates any claim of harassment.”

That’s just fake af.

More like I am speaking out, this isn’t the first time I have heard that blizzard does not take harassment seriously at first

And the libel and slander and everything else you’ve helped suffer others doesn’t? If it bugs you that badly, perhaps apologize publicly to the people YOU and many guilds of the SCA have wronged, rescind the false accusations you’ve made against them along with any community bans, and leave it at that?

Y’all’ve only hurt yourselves in the long run.
