So in the haranir’s 2 quest starting experience you hear the voice of the their goddess who appears to be a troll vocally.
Oh that’s hype, I’m ready for the whispers to drop some lore bombs on me and I’m ready to go out in the world and get unique dialog lines that tell me more about the world.
There’s not any.
It would have been an excellent choice for blizzard to retroactively add lines to NPCs in the past to make things interesting.
It would have also been a very, very good use of the “whisper lore hints” trope that we had with the Black Blade, Aluneth, Head of Manari, etc. But so far as I’ve journied to Beledar/Hallowfall, Ajh-Kahet, Vordrassil, etc. The voice of the goddess is absent. It doesn’t appear (afaik) in the EN raid (legion,) and most disappointingly of all, a staggering, devestating disappointment, there is no voice when you go to the Rift of Aln in Harandar as a Haranir.
Did I miss something? Do I have to do the campaign on my alt first? Because if I’m remembering correctly I’ve been bombarded with being told by blizzard in game, out of game, and in quests, that the haranir hear the pained cries of the goddess within the Rift of Aln in Harandar.
So explain to me, EXPLAIN TO ME, why I don’t hear anything when I go to Rift of Aln in the Raid, and when I go in Harandar, that there is no voice. Nothing. There’s nothing.
Are you kidding me? I was so hyped, so excited, I was so ready for more. I had my notepad open ready to take notes and geared up to analyze the content of what the goddess said…and then…and then? then nothing.
I don’t know who the “ideas” person is for allied races but they could be a lot, lot, lot more creative. I can think of other games I play concurrently to WoW where unique interactions and stuff like this are common place and often beloved by the communities of those games. How could they fail to do something like this?
Someone please tell me that I have to hit max level to hear her talk again or have to finish the campaign again to hear her talk. Tell me I’m just falling short of this immersive experience and vehicle for world building/story telling. I really don’t want to believe they just blundered the Haranir’s potential like this.
