Turkey is such an tasteless terrible bird that requires days of soaking on flavor to make it worth eating.
Rather pork leg or a couple of ducks.

A-freaking-men.
I have never understood the hype behind this tasteless bird. When we were feeding family members that insisted on turkey, we would have to spend over hundred bucks just to make it taste decent (turkey fryer + peanut oil).
I’m so lucky that my husband agrees with me and now that we don’t do that anymore, we do either a honey ham (with honey from our own hives) or crab legs for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas.

It is one of the side dishes that can’t be completely messed up. But a bad turkey will forever haunt a person. Or burn the porch/ house down from putting a frozen turkey in hot boiling oil.
Hell yeah time to give thanks for vidya games!
