Shandris and Lillian Voss represent, even if they’re just good friends because Lillian is best girl and deserves nothing but happiness. Also, the sapphic chemistry was off the charts during the questline these two had. Seriously. They had to have done that on purpose.
Also Flynn and Shaw, walking proof that opposites attract. Are they married yet or has Shaw yet to divorce his work life and finally commit?
It’s a running joke in my guild that Wrathion is not good enough for Anduin but boy is Anduin a catch for Wrathion. Dude literally could not do better and that’s not even weighing in Anduin’s royal lineage.
My worry is regardless of our little lion’s sexuality, he’ll have to marry for political reasons, further making him beholden to his duties and subsequent misery. I just want the best for our traumatized frendo.
I’ll admit that this might be a very generous read of the dialogue but I think that they’re at least living together at this point. When Flynn is at the Trading Post trying to secretly get Shaw a pet, Wilder tells him to see if any of the available pets ‘would fit yer home.’
My little shipper heart has been clinging to that tidbit for ages.
The best part is the first month I noticed Shaw did this is when the ogre kid was the TP pet. I was giggling at the idea of Flynn essentially bringing an actual ogre child home to Shaw.
Valtrois and Stellagosa as our Stan Lesbian Couple
Flynn Fairwinds and Mathias Shaw as our Stan Gay Couple
I personally stan Anduin and Faerin Lothar, simply because she’s a member of the Lothar Bloodline and that will make all of the Nobles shut the hell up about ‘suitability’ and ‘proper breeding’.
I also want Wrathion in the mix to make it a polycule for three reasons.
The shrieking from the incels will lull me to sleep at night.
Anduin and a Black Dragon in the Throne Room again is going to cause all manner of PTSD to all of us Vanilla Babies.
It would be cute as all heck, and with Ebissian being very Horde aligned, having Wrathion being firmly in the Alliance camp, and Anduin’s bed, would do wonders for offsetting that little wrinkle.
I know there’s a bunch of characters in Dragonflight, the gay couple we meet in the first zone who are our introduction to the new crafting system but my mind is swiss cheese right now from pain, there’s also the Pandaren/Tauren married couple with their adopted Vulpera daughter, and yeah, get the ‘whose hairball is it anyways?’ jokes out of the way, we all did. There’s also a host of Dragonkin who are furiously gay for each other/in lesbians with one another, there’s the leader of the Horde Dracthyr Weyr and the leader of the Healing Wings Neutral Dracthyr Weyr who are very cute about their feelings for each other …
I can see the polycule. I like Faerin, though I think she has an even more duty bound mindset that Anduin. I can see her being away a lot because of “her duty to her people” and Anduin trying to manage everything on the home front if they had kids. Hear me out on this - I can see Wrathion stepping up to co-parent. We know what kind of whelp-hood he had and I can see him not wanting Anduin’s kids to go through anything like that. The idea of Uncle Wrathion just makes me giggle.
Honestly though, I don’t think Anduin will ever get that happily ever after.
tbh this has been a nagging thought of mine for a while. The guy is basically set on a rigid path with all his major life steps chartered out for him. Anduin also historically hasn’t fit the molds he was born to fit into. It’s hard to see a happy ending for him where he currently is right now.
There’s a rich/poor joke to make here that the noble’s kid gets to be a squire while the pauper’s orphan battles Dalaran sewer rats for first pick of the garbage.
Also, no idea if the ogre baby pet can battle, I certainly hope not. No sentient baby anything “pet” should have to but Blizzard has weird rules and apparent biases in that regard.
Hell, I’ll even settle for the three of them to be friends because I think their dynamics would be hilariously amazing, but it seems Wrathion will be forgotten this expansion because he had so much screen time in DF, and it remains to be seen if Faerin will be remembered after TWW is over.
Poor Anduin. His friends aren’t as big of Lore characters as him so they automatically get less screen time and development. Our guy is doomed for loneliness.
I was thinking about it. I agree with you, there were expectations and role for him to play. What he actually wanted was never taken into account. And he was dutiful and tried to do what was expected of him. In some ways, his path is similar to the traditional path of a royal princess. To passively accept what has been deemed to be his life and do his duty. In SL, was physically and mentally controlled not emotionally and psychologically. So while things were still out of his control, it was not his responsibility - and I think he liked that part of it too some degree - even though he hated what he did. He already had Stockholm Syndrome to some degree. No one he’s been so messed up after SL.
I like Faerin. I found her a little annoying at first, but I really like her. SHe is a warrior. She contrasts with Anduin. She is active, she embraces responsibility, and choose her path - whether or not that was what was intended for her. Once again, a change of traditional gender expectations. She is the prince to Anduin’s princess.
Wrathion is a dragon, a very young dragon. He is chaos in every form and I’m here for it. I really do like the potential dynamic of the three of them.
I hope they don’t tone down Faerin. I hope Anduin stays alive and never becomes a bro dude. And I hope we see more of Wrathion and that he never becomes a villian.
