I was in a similar situation! Can’t hold a pen still in my left hand (but I can finally hold one, at least!) and had to learn to write as a righty. It looks like butt, even after years of “practice” lol
Fortunately, only thing I did with my left hand was write.
Part time is better than no time. Parents are weird but hopefully they’re just innocently concerned for your future financial status and not projecting onto you to work harder than they did.
To them, adulthood is working a job you hate until you die. No point trying to change anything either for the better, because it’ll be the same everywhere else.
