Happy for the OG's

Half the posts on the forums are people who don’t play meta classes/specs complaining that they spend hours getting rejected from every group. That’s a key reason people play fotm… makes getting groups easier. That’s why I started tanking 15 years ago and why I still tank today - I don’t want to spend all my play time waiting for someone to take a chance on me.

Yeah I definitely got a sour taste from playing my ret through the 10.0.7 craze. It was like Wrath launch again. I still remember the hate back then, even though I joined at the very end of that expansion. Been playing ret ever since. Even played ret on a bunch of private TBC servers prior to that, so I’m not even a Wrath baby per se.

Ret reputation has only started to recover and it became a normal spec people play, but then the 10.0.7 rework made it a “noob” spec again, and it made the game miserable in salty PuGs. Like I was playing solo shuffle and was placed on a ridiculously high MMR for my gear and skill, and of course I lost everything, and I got flamed so hard that I just don’t want to play that mode anymore.

I feel called out lol

ret?
that gotta be wrong

warriors
rogues
mages
warlocks

im thinking

Ehh don’t let PvPers in any video game get you down. Typically these types of people have VERY little going on in their life, with wow being far and away the most important thing to them.

So when they fail at this said important thing (whether it be personal error or external), they get really emotional and angry.

An ur post is just fluff and nonsense attacking a class or players. You literally came in here insulting Ret players calling them FOTM just cause they play poorly… news flash people play poorly regardless.

It’s not a hard class to play and, like everyone else who’s been around since vanilla, I have max/near max level characters of every class.

I’ll play what I want and if the tuning changes I’m entitled to play something else for a bit to spice things up. Silly post.

I’m not sure of what you mean by that.
Ret needed to be revisited.
To which extend the “rework” needed to go is debatable but Ret needed some more work.
PVE wise
IMO the playstyle was fine and if we only would have had the defensives we have now and unbound freedom from the start, I don’t think a “rework” would have been necessary for this expac.
The ret tree would still have been a mess and the focus on consecration would still have been obnoxious but it could have worked.

But even then we still would have had some pretty glaring problem in the class tree.
Steed still have 3 points to be made equal to what it was in SL, it’s ridiculous.
And they did not solve the design problem of the tree that makes it so you can get all 3 capstones.
Furthermore, there is still way too many throughput talents in the class tree which was supposed to be mainly utility based.

Same here. I main Hpal and now I see so many paladins it’s crazy.

I did not come here insulting Ret players. I came here insulting people who FOTM chase. The “Ret/Paladin” aspect has nothing to do with it whatsoever.

I felt my post was not overly confusing, but then again I seem to be surprised daily at this point.

So you attacked ret and FOTM just like I said, you specifically came into paladin forum to post this, an have no solid way to tell the difference betwen bad an good other then specifically profile searching each one aka an assumption.
You arent the only one surprised I’m surprised you would post this nonsense at all.

i like how the website says you are zandalari troll paladin but the thumbnail image is of a tauren

That’s not true. Usually sure, but not all the time.

LOL
I didn’t noticed that, I recently made a race change from Troll to Tauren.

Edit: I think I fixed it.

Blah blah blah. More blah and some whining. Just put “No Rets” when you post your keys (I don’t want to be your group so you’d be saving us both some time). Easy as that. Move along troll.

I’m too old to care about people rerolling to a class and specialization where they can have fun. I’m staying protection but have enjoyed the new retribution playstyle on my alt paladin. I just hope the upcoming changes to holy paladin will make that spec not feel awful.

What is this 2005 again? Everyone basically plays most specs these days. The notion of “mains” becomes more outdated each year

For sure Ret is easier to digest. I have played Ret on and off, mostly off since WotLK to play prot for guilds i been in and Ret all the way through Panda.

This expansion an officers girlfriend decided she wanted to tank and I got pushed out to Ret. It was rough relearning the spec but I got it figured out. Then we got a rework.

Easier to digest and i feel its fairly fast paced with little downtime. I enjoy it. Highest key I have tried so far was a 13. Damage has been on top.

Its fun now. Not the best damage class but it competitive. N
