Academia believes that education should not simply be a privilege of the elite but available to all. Through generous grants from the Kirin Tor, the Horde, and the Alliance, Academia can employ masters from a variety of academic fields to help scholars broaden their horizons. Whether a person wants to learn a new skill set or improve upon their current ones, Academia wants to help others reach their full potential; people of all ages, backgrounds, stations, and education levels are welcomed to our classes. OOC: Academia is an 18+ neutral RP guild with a focus on helping other players develop their characters through education. While our focus is predominantly on employing excellent instructors to offer courses to the public, we welcome scholars of all skill levels to join our ranks as well. Our aim is to have classes available to the community every week with casual roleplay opportunities in between classes. Our events are held at a variety of times and days, but frequently later in the evening server time. While the guild itself will not have storylines, members are welcome to bring their personal storylines in for guildies to participate in and help develop! On an OOC level we hope to have a chill, down to earth group that is accepting of the diversity the WoW player base has to offer, because all are welcome here that are tolerant and kind to others. We like to have fun, joke, and we will have OOC hang out nights as well! Finally, we will be offering weekly content nights for those who are interested!
What is expected of an instructor at Academia?
-Attend classes and events.
-Interact with other members of Academia on a regular basis.
-Hold one class a month! Classes do not have to be long. If you can convey your subject matter in 25 minutes, then that is completely acceptable. (You may hold more classes or courses in a 4-week period if you so choose.)
