It wasn’t useless but it wasn’t an execute, I’d add that in theme it was redundant.
You would prioritize an execute in an execute phase, but HoW was still the low priority even in this scenario.
All the other buttons either gave better benefit or better damage.
So while it did fill a role it wasn’t a particularly important or meaningful one aside from preventing us to stare at the screen and do nothing for the sparse moment where it happened.
There were already multiple mechanics that made it available before the 20% threshold so it’s not like that was a sudden burst of HoPo falling on our lap.
The communication they gave was that Midnight Ret was designed with Templar Strike in mind.
So it removes the need for it to exist because we’re not “meant” to pick CSAA, allegedly.
With TS, you’re never out of buttons to press but the need to be in melee is emphasized.
