Skill May Vary is a Horde M+ community created for people who are looking to find a consistent group of players to run a wide range of M+ content. Founded by players who have raided and run top tier content off and on through the last 15 years of this game’s life, we’re not looking for only the elite, and want to create a community that is fun for many and fosters growth. All we ask is that you know your class and have a grip on mechanics. From there we have a system in place which allows players to grow and excel through our ranks. If you want to establish a set team, or just run your keys with a solid set of players without pugging, Skill May Vary could be the home for you!
How does it work?
The community is built off of ranks which help to denote player ability based on their Raider IO score. Players are able to post their keys into the Dungeon Announce channel in Discord, a place where only players of your rank or higher can see your key and choose to run with you.
What this does is allows players to have the opportunity to run with higher IO players if they want, without worrying about being spammed for boosts or carries. For example: If you are in the “Initiate” bracket and post your key, players from “Initiate” through “Master” can see your key and offer to run with you. However, if you are in the “Specialist” category and post your key, only people from “Specialist” through “Master” would be able to see your key and ask to join the group.
The intention behind this is to ensure that players are able to find others who can help to successfully run their key. In turn, this also allows lower bracket players to be able to receive help and guidance from those in a higher bracket in order to help them grow and share knowledge while running them through a more appropriate keystone. While this system is still a work in progress, we will be consistently gathering feedback in order to continue to strengthen and grow the community as a whole.
Ranks are as follows:
Beginner 650 - 1000
Initiate 1000 - 1200
Pro 1200 - 1500
Specialist 1500 - 1800
Elite 1800 - 2100
Master 2100+
While the majority of the community features will be run through Discord, we will work to maintain a more social aspect of the community for easy in-game communication through the Blizzard community feature.
