[H-RP] The Wolfmane Tribe

I would like a kodo steak please.
Milk, eggs, and ground beef.... I love it when everything I need is in one place.
I like my steak still...moo...ing...*shifty eyes*
My friends make strange pseudo-cannibalistic jokes, but they are handsome and strong.

Hope we can do some stuff stoon, beit IC or OOC! Adal told me you guys might be interested in our vanity raid idea. Now that we're done with serious progression, we're doing old mythic raids to get achievements and transmog! <3 to Wolfmane!
Oh my gosh YES. I would absolutely love to get some old transmog or achievements for mounts!
Zang master flex reporting in to say. TONIGHT at 630 Server ---- Its about that time again. FOR STORY CIRCLE!
The Tribe is now settled near the Frostwolf Compound in the Alterac Mountains!

OOC News
This month we helped to host the Dance of the Earthmother! After the Dance took a hiatus, we gathered together friends and allies to put it back together again. We sought out fellow tribes, unaffiliated tauren, anyone who was willing to help, and have to say the Dance was an even grander success than I had dared hope! It was so wonderful to return to this spectacular event, and I hope our new Highmountain friends enjoyed! With the allied races, I've seen so many who have never played tauren before try it, and I hope that that helped in showing just how amazing this community is, and how you can bring a lot of culture into an event without losing out on attendance and fun.

Thank you all who hosted and participated. I look forward to seeing you all and working with you again in the summer! Once we can figure out a good date, 'cause woo boy, I don't remember people planning community events a year in advance!

IC News
After completing our business within Twilight Highlands, we came to a bit of a dead end. We did not know if the Black Dawn had at last been wiped out, or if they were in hiding. But we knew that if they were, they could only be north, and so we headed through the Wetlands, awkwardly waving to Alliance on the way and praying they did not attack, before arriving in the Arathi Highlands.

There the tribe got a short time to relax in a safe, secure location. At least, until there was a mysterious death from one of the citizens there.

Though not seemingly Black Dawn related, this was cause for alarm, and the tribe immediately began to investigate. While initially it seemed that the man had either jumped or fallen, it quickly became apparent that perhaps his mind had not been his own. Using intellect and creativity, and perhaps making some stupid decisions in the name of science, the tribe eventually discovered the cause. Not quite the break we had been expecting.

Yet still, there was no word on the Black Dawn. We decided to take matters into our own hands, and several scout teams were sent out to investigate all lands north and west of us. And all that was discovered was that there was a deep feeling of corruption within Hinterlands. Trees melting into goo when they were touched, whispers, strange figures following the scouts...

It sounded like typical Black Dawn behavior. So the tribe packed up and headed north through a dwarven tunnel into the Hinterlands, eventually settling on the coast at Revantusk Village. Though aware of the impending doom awaiting us here, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful location and enjoyed the beach and the weather, chilly though it still was.

But relaxation couldn't last for long. Soon we headed out again as a group to scout, trying to follow the source of the corruption. And, eventually, it led us to Seradane, where the druids were terribly effected by whatever was going on there. The Black Dawn was trying to trifle with the portal.

Knowing that we needed to act fast, we returned to Revantusk and began to seek out allies...
We were having a little informal RP Q & A around a campfire near Bloodhoof Village. The idea is to help some players in our guild who are brand new to RP learn about things like the mechanics (add-ons, custom emotes, etc.), designing a character, incorporating lore into RP, mogging, walkups, ... over a few sessions. We overheard the call for the beginning of the Story Circle.

Thank you for allowing us to come over and enjoy the event. It was a big eye-opener for them in a very very good way. Seeing all of it in action - different speaking styles, ways to display your character rather than describe it, etiquette in a group setting, etc. - was a wonderful opportunity. Gives courage to some of our timid guildies. Really glad their first chance to see others RPing for an extended period was so vastly different from the stereotypical tavern night.

Thank you.
You and your guildies are most welcome. Feel free to come back any time! Sundays, of course. XD

Story circles has been going on for a number of years. It is a WRA tradition that we are honored to continue.

Hello everyone! A quick announcment. Since Wolfmane's very beginning, we've struggled with sudden influxes of new members at random and sudden growth spurts. It's super great that Wolfmane is so well beloved and people want to join us! However, when we do have these sudden influxes, it makes things really hard on officers and members alike, as we are trying to rush to get everyone's IC interview done, and then members are struggling to keep up with the newer folks and get to know them. And this is detrimental to new recruits as well! After all, when there are five other new people that everyone is trying to get to know, it can be very easy to feel neglected, and that is the opposite of what we want.

And so, starting April 30, we are implementing our new recruitment system. Potential applicants will still submit their applications, and they will still be reviewed by multiple officers and accepted (or declined, heaven forbid) as soon as we are capable, but after that the accepted applicant will be placed into a queue -- a week in which their IC interview can be scheduled. The first week will be April 30 to May 5.

If the week given for you does not work for you, let us know and we will shift it to another week! If you miss your week, message an officer and we will move you back into the queue. And if you simply do not want to wait for the week given to you, that is fine! We would be more than happy to give suggestions for other tribes or guilds. We wish to see fellow tauren guilds grow as well!

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, please feel free to send Karanga a message in-game!

OOC News
This month marked the end of a nearly year-long storyline in the Wolfmane! We learned much throughout this story, and it's been a long, tough journey, one we won't soon forget! I look forward to what comes in the future, and I'm excited to move onto newer stories with all of my guildmates! Thank you to all who stuck with us for this story, and all who gave feedback!

IC News
Knowing that the Black Dawn was in Seradane, trying to corrupt the Dream, many of the Wolfmane spread out and found allies in different places. One found an ally within the Army of the Light from his time on Argus, and was gifted ten crystals infused with light to be used against the shadows of the cult. Another found allies with the High Elves in Hinterlands. And, more dangerously, an alliance with some of the forest trolls of Hinterlands was struck. However, this came with a threat -- as soon as the battle was done, the Wolfmane had to retreat, or else the trolls would hunt down their children.

These terms were agreed upon, and thus the Wolfmane prepared for battle. And as we launched our assault on Seradane, we were joined by elves, shooting their arrows from the mountains, and the trolls, rushing in and brutally striking down all, while the few that held a crystal banished away the shadows.

With the combined efforts of all these 'allies' we succeeded in destroying the Black Dawn, and then promptly fled in the face of the troll's aggression.

However, even still we were pursued, this time by the Whispers, who had haunted us since we were forced to flee our village the first time. But now, the time for running was over. As we came to rest with the Frostwolves in Arathi, we faced the whispers and their lies, challenging them. And we won. The spirits were banished, leaving behind the form of a bull, who knew not where he was, or what had happened. We took this bull in, and offered him sanctuary.

However, though it seemed everything had fallen into place, something still seemed wrong. The activity near the Emerald Portal was unsettling and, figuring the Cenarion Circle should know about this, we ventured north to the nearest camp of druids to alert them of the situation. But one of the druids seemed overly defensive, and aggressive. After a warning from an Elder about dark magic about, we returned to camp, knowing what must be going on.

Shortly we headed up to Hearthglen, staying with friends within the Argent Crusade before returning to the druid we had confronted before. When we requested to take them in for questioning, things escalated, and as we tried to restrain them, at last they revealed themselves. A battle took place, and the false druid was struck down. We had killed one of the leaders within the Black Dawn. We had done our part.

Exhausted, we headed to Tirisfal and took a zeppelin back to Kalimdor, where we set up camp near the base of the path to our village. We gathered together all our tools, all our knowledge that we had gained in all these months fighting the Black Dawn. The crystals. A powerful druidic staff. Blessings to shield our minds from the shadows. We formulated a plan to draw out the beast, the monter in the lake.

The battle was long and hard. Many were beaten terribly. Many fell to their knees in exhaustion, in pain. And yet, our determination, our will to restore our land, our home, fueled us. And, after what seemed like an eternity, we struck down the monster, and it evaporated into nothingness, just like the shadows in the face of An'she.

The village had been reclaimed.

May Feather Ceremony

Beaten and battered after reclaiming our village, we gathered amidst the ruins on the lakeshore. After cleansing the area, purifying it to make a temporary medicine circle, the tribe formed together once again for a Feather Ceremony. Only this time, despite our fatigue and soreness, we were at last in the safety of our sanctuary, and thus held our heads high for this sacred ceremony.

OOC News
This month was one of rest! After spending so long on such an intense storyline, we took the month to relax, both IC and OOC. Of course activity was up as always, but I hope everyone enjoyed getting to do more relaxed events! However, behind the scenes officers have been reworking many things, preparing for the reveals of new Wolfmane lore, and also a long awaited Strider Pack! Nothing that will really affect what already exists, but in the words of one of our members, more "adding flavor to an already tasty guild!"

Regardless, we hope everyone enjoyed the month of rest, and we hope that all will enjoy what stories we shall do next. The Black Dawn is over, time to revisit our roots!

IC News
After the Black Dawn had been defeated, the next step was to begin rebuilding the village. After all, it had been burned down by the Legion so many moons ago, and we'd barely gotten a chance to rebuild before we had been chased out yet again by the Black Dawn. And so, we made plans. Splitting up into groups, we decided what would need to be built, where we should add some watch towers, and even began to set down totems for the spirits.

Once the plans were made, it was a question as to how to get the resources necessary. After all, we were high on a mountain top with very few trees! It was discussed getting a trade route set up with those in Feralas, and perhaps some of our allies that have ties to the Horde. Though the concern was brought up, how is the Horde getting these materials? Through mass logging? Strip mining? It was decided to not do trade with the Horde for these concerns, instead looking to others.

And so the village was rebuilt, and organized. The tents were directed to be more on the upper levels of the tent, the community area on the lower. The small tribe known as the Strongheart, who had once threatened war with Wolfmane for these lands, agreed to set up along the mountain ridge, where now they co-exist with the Wolfmane peacefully.

However, through all this rebuilding, the spiritually gifted started to notice something strange. The grass was not regrowing. Life on the mountaintop felt... stagnant. The spirits were silent. And so, the mystics investigated, fearing that perhaps the war was not over, that the Black Dawn was truly not defeated.

But instead, what we discovered was quite the opposite. Before we had put an end to the cult's presence in our village, the spirits that once roamed freely in the area had holed themselves up in an effort to protect themselves from the corruption, but as a result had also trapped themselves. And so the Wolfmane gathered to gather, summoning all our strength, and we set free the spirits. They all fled, spreading out across the mountaintop, though one, a great wolf, paused and looked at the Wolfmane, before racing off with the others.

And with the natural spirits free, life could at last regrow. The rebuilding of the village completed, and to celebrate, we held a grand feast. It had been so long since we could just sit with one another, relaxed and knowing that at least for now, we were safe, and with great pride it was announced that with the village rebuilt, it would also be receiving a new name: Lona'fe, or Wolf's Rest.

However, the celebration was interrupted by a large figure approaching -- the wolf we had freed. This great wolf spirit, one of thousands of wild gods, revealed himself to be Eche'towa. His children had been a friend to Wolfmane's ancestors, he said, and now that Wolfmane had expanded to an entire tribe, and that tribe had proven themselves to be loyal to the spirits, to the Earthmother, the blessing of his pack shall extend to the tribe as a whole.

However, there was something that had to be done, first. His pack had been scattered to the winds. It was up to the Wolfmane to find them, and reunite them all.
June Feather Ceremony
After a month of rebuilding, the Wolfmane once more gathered within their village, now known as Lona'fe, for a Feather Ceremony. And though the village still had much work to be done on it, it was looking more lively now than it had in years.

OOC News
With the Wolfmane village reclaimed and renamed, it seemed rather fitting that now would begin a new chapter in Wolfmane in which we start to define our lore and history a bit more. And so this month was all about building up our packs, and the spirits of the Wolfmane! If you look, we've updated the Tribe Information page on the website, including a bit more information about our lands, the spirits, and our ancestors! Check it out!

We also ended this month with our seasonal Dance fo the Earthmother. Once again it was a wonderful success, and I am so glad that everyone had such a wonderful time. I look forward to the autumn Dance and seeing how the tauren community grows until then!

IC News
Having been tasked with finding the packmates of Eche'towa, the Wolfmane immediately set out to do just that. Through means of tracking in the physical realm, and venturing into the spirit realm, we hunted down each and every one of the wolves.

We began to Po'awaki, the eldest daughter of Eche'towa and known to be a powerful seer. When we came upon her, she was wounded, dying, and under attack by the centaur. However, with the braves fending off the centaur, our seers mended her wounds, and once she could stand, she had us build a medicine circle and together we danced, easing her spirit.

Next, we sought the wolf Su'haka, who was trapped between the physical and spirit realm. Yet even in such a state, she was incredibly elusive, whilst also harassing peons at the logging camps of Ashenvale. Using a combination of our tracking abilities, knowledge of the spirits, and compassion and honor to the Earthmother, we were able to gain the wolf strider's trust, and help her return fully to the world of mortals.

Then, the mother, Lakot'aki was sought out. When we found her, she lectured us on wars of the past, and how traditions were being forgotten. She implored us to create something on meaning, to show that the lives lost through the years were not in vain. And so we did, earning her trust.

Shortly thereafter, we sought out the mysterious Sech'awak, who was lost to the spirit realm. We ventured after them, but instead of the wolf we found a great toad spirit complaining of dirty water, requesting us to help him. And so we did, which then revealed Sech'awak to us.

Four of five wolves were found. All that remained was Uch'tak, the headstrong warrior. Yet before we sought out the final pack member, the tribe gathered together within the Crossroads to celebrate the Dance of the Earthmother. Competitions were had to honor each of the four elements, and a good time was had by all, allowing the month to end on a positive and joyous note.
July Feather Ceremony

With our task of finding the wolf spirits of the Wolfmane nearly complete, we knew our time at Lona'fe was coming to an end. Like the water of the rushing river, we had to keep moving. And so, the tribe gathered around one last time, to honor our people before we would say goodbye to Lona'fe, until next we return to our sacred home.

July Update

OOC News
This month we began to prepare for the beginning of our Battle for Azeroth storyline! It's been a bit of a challenge, trying to find our way here in an expansion that's all about the faction conflict when Wolfmane is very much neutral! But, it has most certainly provided some interesting character developement. And I have to say, it's been rather heartwarming, seeing how despite the fact that some Wolfmane fly Horde colors, and then others find the Horde to be despicable, they all still maintain that close familial relationship. It will be great to see how this further progresses.

IC News
After our village was attacked by Grimtotem, the Wolfmane headed out to launch a counter attack. They had burned our homes, stolen our supplies, supplies that we needed, and we needed to get them back and ensure this would not happen again.

We chased the Grimtotem through the Barrens, and into Stonetalon. The Grimtotem struggled to keep us at bay, but we managed to break through the barriers they put before us, before eventually arriving in their village. There, we saw a starving people, struggling to survive. And though a battle ensued, several tribemembers tried to talk sense into the chieftain. He was unwilling to listen, however, at least until he was at last defeated, but rather than kill him and his people, the chieftain ordered them all to be restrained. And once they were unable to fight back anymore, the conversation continued. The Grimtotem expressed fear, that they did not want to see their people starve, and they did not wish to earn the aggression of other, stronger Grimtotem villages. The Wolfmane, seeing that these were not cruel people but simply terrified individuals wanting to survive, swore to keep them safe on the condition that they swear to never attack them, or any other tribe again, and if they returned the supplies. And when the Grimtotem brought back the supplies, Chieftain Karanga stated that they could keep the supplies.

And it was then that a being rose from the Earthmother herself -- a great wolf spirit. Uch'tak, the very spirit we'd been searching for. Uch'tak told us of how being a warrior is about maintaining peace -- and that is done sometimes through battle, and sometimes through showing restraint and kindness. He offered us his blessing, and after promising to check in, the Wolfmane returned home.

We held one final celebration then within Lona'fe, where at last we got to see the Pack together again in its entirety: The Alpha, Eche'towa. The mother and Artisan, Lokat'aki. The twins, Seer Po'awaki and Brave Uch'tak. The Strider, Su'haka, and the Mystic, Sech'awak. Each of them blessed the Wolfmane, and swore that they would always be watching over our people, and Lona'fe.

But then one more task was presented to the tribe by Eche'towa. He told us to go to Pandaria, to mend wounds before they could catch the attention of Horde and Alliance, and to provide safe haven for those who would escape this war that would soon take over Azeroth. The Wolfmane agreed, and shortly after we packed up and moved to Ratchet to await a ship that would take us to Pandaria.

It was at this time that the Horde launched its attack against Teldrassil. Several tribemates were drafted to participate in this war. And several others, who had friends within Teldrassil, went as well, but not to fight the Kaldorei. To save them.

We were too late. The world tree burned.

Warriors and would-be defenders returned to Ratchet, all heartbroken, and feeling lost. And as the soldiers of the Horde announced to Wolfmane that now they were to go to Lordaeron, in despite of any disappointment they held the rest of the Wolfmane hugged them goodbye, made them swear to keep safe, before they split up once again. The neutral members of the tribe bordered their ship for Pandaria, hoping that their Horde family would return to them safely soon.
