The tribe settled and rested in Thunderbluff for a few weeks’ time, recovering from the massive onslaught against the Burning Legion in the Broken Shore. But after a time we decided it was time to leave the Wolfmane Lodge in the Bluffs and make the journey through the Barrens to the Wolfmane Village to prepare for their winter stay. They trekked to the start of the secret path, temporarily setting up camp by a pond as they prepared to cleanse the village of the fel taint that remained.
The Wolfmane worked for weeks, sending up groups to cleanse the fel through any means possible. However, in this process many members started to hear whispers. Paranoia ran rampant. Eventually, bits of rock that resembled saronite were discovered, and the distressed tribe quickly disposed of them, wondering how in Azeroth they made it there. Rumors started, but most of all the tribe was grateful when the whispers stopped, and they could finally return home.
And so, for the first time in over a year, the Wolfmane traveled together as a tribe up the secret path, back into the village.
Their work was not yet complete, however. Led by Pake Greyhorn, the tribemembers took the collective remains of tribemates that had died all those months ago in the attack on the village to Bloodhoof to perform their Final Rites. Together the tribe witnessed their fallen kins’ final moments, and they wept together for each other, and for their family.
But, for a time, life did return to normal. The Master Artisan rallied his brothers and sisters to gather supplies, food and raw materials for the camp, while the Head Brave bringing the North Strength Games to the tribe for entertainment and amusement. Blackwolf Grimtotem stood tall, winning the competition, with Loshal and Renhuko tying for second place, proving their strength to the Wolfmane. One of the Sin’Dorei Greenhorns of the tribe, Celebrim, gathered his tribe mates to further help the development of the winter village to bring fish to the lake once again.
Though things did not stay perfect forever. One evening, when the tribe was settling down by their fires, drinking and enjoying themselves after a long day’s work, whispers began to fill the ears and the minds of everyone around them. Two entities, shoulder to shoulder, stood afar, merely watching, their mouths unmoving. Two shu’halo going by the Whispers of Truths and the Whispers of Lies. One by one, several of our tribemates made an effort to bolt toward Bloodhoof Village to steal back the remains and bring them back at the demand of a third, bellowing voice. Fortunately, some tribemates managed to keep their sanity and were able to stop their brothers and sisters.
At least, all but one. One druid who kept an avian form was able to escape the grasp of their tribemates, delivering the remains back to the village and dropping them in the lake. Spokana and Loshal, determined to retrieve the remains in spite of the danger, swam down, and though the remains were retrieved, they were attacked by a giant, seeming undead monstrosity before just barely managing to escape.
The tribe took sanctuary in Camp Narache, nursing themselves and trying to calm themselves. The whispers followed them, but Mahepaola Runetotem, alongside the Whitehorn chieftain Wambleesha, cast away the whispers, though it was only temporary. Truth and Lies would be back.
It was uncertain where Truths and Lies came from, and the monster in the lake, but there was one guess as to what they were, and who they were aligned with. There was talk of a cult called the Black Dawn, who served the entity known as the Sleeper. Wolfmane’s friends and allies the Windsong Herd and Whitehorn Tribe had been fighting the Black Dawn for months, and as Wolfmane had just recently entered the Spiritsong Pact alongside them, they couldn’t help but think that that had put them on the Black Dawn’s radar.
And soon the Wolfmane would be presented the perfect opportunity meet this mysterious enemy face to face, and learn more about them. After receiving a call for help from the Windsong Herd, Wolfmane packed up. They were to go to Northrend, and assist Windsong in escaping the horde of the Black Dawn cultists...
Within the dark but peaceful Twilight Grove, the battered and weary Wolfmane Tribe gathered once again, as they did every month, for the Feather Ceremony. In spite of the battle, in spite of the doubts and whispers that had plagued them, tradition must always go on. And in spite of all their troubles the past year, still they managed smile and cheer as they welcomed and honored their tribe brothers and sisters.

Just a random apology to any Alliance who might have been confused by the large herd just chilling in the Twilight Grove lately. I promise we'll be out of Duskwood by the end of the week and you won't have to deal with the mooing anymore. XD
Wolfmane's doing a campaign in the Eastern Kingdoms! So if there happens to be any groups hanging out anywhere in Eastern Kingdoms, expect to see Wolfmane pass through at some point in the next few months! Don't be afraid to walk up if you do. And if any Alliance guilds are interested in meeting a tauren tribe in a non-hostile situation, we are certainly open to it! This is the first time Wolfmane has ever been to Eastern Kingdoms and who knows if we ever will again, so it'd be awesome to take advantage and meet new people!
As for how we go from Eastern Kingdoms and back over to Mulgore for Story Circle in a day? ... Don't question.

After some intense storylines, this was a much more relaxing month for Wolfmane with some more light hearted events, but still pretty darn busy! The joint storyline with the Spiritsong Pact continues to go well, and we’re super excited to be fighting the same enemy alongside Windsong and Whitehorn!
Also, we have a tumblr now! Feel free to check it out!

At the call of the Windsong Herd, Wolfmane, alongside the Whitehorn Tribe traveled to the frozen wastes of Howling Fjord. There the Spiritsong Pact was reunited and discussed the impending battle against the cult of the Black Dawn. After a plan was formed, the three tribes rested alongside one another, enjoying a brief moment of peace.
The next day they formed a line, prepared to face the cult head on. This was the first time the Wolfmane had ever truly seen the Black Dawn, and their monsters and abominations. The numbers were overwhelming, the monstrosities they formed foul and disgusting. Wolfmane was able to assist in holding the line while Whitehorn lead a group of the cultists on a wild goose chase through Northrend, and Windsong retreated by way of ship. Eventually our injuries became too much to bare, and it was time to retreat. We called down hippogryphs that had been lying in wait to pick us up, heading north to the Grizzly Hills where we met with the exhausted Whitehorn and rushed through the Dreamway Portal, arriving in the temporary safe haven of Duskwood.
It was there that we had a couple weeks of rest. Though in Alliance territory, the Twilight Grove was a true neutral ground, and a much needed vacation for the exhausted tribe. It was there that the new High Strider, Wuyoon, was bound to Rowtag Wildheart. Gatherings were held, and scouts sent out to investigate the surrounding area. And though the tribe enjoyed this peaceful retreat, soon it was time to head south to meet with the Windsong.
We headed down into the thick jungles of Stranglethorn, finding sanctuary in the troll village of Bambala. While we waited to meet with the Windsong and Whitehorn once again, we decided to turn our attentions to the Venture Co in Stranglethorn and end their crimes against the Earthmother. First a scouting party was sent out against them, though it did not go entirely to plan, resulting in a few injuries for our tribemates.
Still, enough information was gathered, and a larger Venture Co’s base was located: On the eastern coast of the cape. A war party was sent out to steal the company’s oil and blow up their rigs, as well as take out their leaders. The oil was successfully stolen, and the rigs destroyed, but in the process of taking out their leader there was a larger explosion that caused significant damage and left a few tribemates badly burned.
In spite of that though, everyone got out alive and tended to their wounds, with the intentions of returning soon to clean up the damage.
But there was more business to be done until then. At last we reunited once more with the Spiritsong Pact and each tribe updated one another on progress. Hearing the plight of Windsong and their need for grain for their kodos, Wolfmane took the oil they had gotten to Booty Bay to sell, bartering it for a significant amount of gold and then using said gold to buy the needed grain for Windsong. Now, knowing our allies are secure and the Venture Co’s company in Stranglethorn is at least halted, we can clean up the remainder of the mess, and turn our attentions to dealing with the cultists hiding away in the jungles....

Happy to hear you're accepting non-Tauren! My elf Hunter has deep respect for and lives by Tauren traditions, so I'd be very happy to be a part of this if you'll have me!
Certainly! We welcome all who live by, or are willing to learn of, our old traditions and culture. :) You will need to apply on the website at wolfmane.com, though the application process isn't to judge or anything. It's just for organization purposes. And if you have any questions, don't hesitate to message someone in-game!
Tonight the Wolfmane gathered within the troll village of Bambala to celebrate another Feather Ceremony! We welcomed many new tribe brothers and sisters tonight, and honored many of our family. With the threat of the cult of the Black Dawn looming over us, it is good to take a night to celebrate and recognize one another for our deeds.

Happy Hallow's End from the Wolfmane! We're spending the holiday in the Swamp of Sorrows. I swear I didn't plan that at all. But if there's anyone in the area looking for some random role play, just take a peek into Stonard! We always enjoy encountering people in the world.
You guys gave us a bump on our thread and so Southfury will gladly return the favor. A bump for our friends the Wolfmane Tribe!
Had a bunch of people new to tauren role play or new to the server whispering me tonight after Story Circle asking about tauren role play. It's so wonderful to see so many new tauren role players! And since it seems like there's so many of you guys popping up, I feel it necessary to bring attention to this:
http://www.wolfmane.com/taurenresources
This page contains two links. The first being a very large and in-depth guide to tauren role play, containing history on the tauren, how to name your tauren, some steps on how to create a tauren character, an explanation on tribal hierarchy, and much more. Props to our old chieftain Raton for gathering all of this information and putting it together! The credits are listed at the bottom.
The second link is focused entirely on the Old Ways. Not all tauren live by the Old Ways so it might not apply to your character if they're more of a Horde soldier rather than your traditional, old-fashioned tauren, but it's still a good read! It talks about traditions and culture, roles in the tribe, ceremonies, rites, taboos, and beliefs on life and death. Credit goes to Raton for writing up the vast majority of it, with a few added sections from myself.
And of course if there's any new tauren role players wanting to learn more, I and others in Wolfmane are always happy to help and answer any questions! And if after you've figured out your character and you're wanting to find a tribe, Wolfmane leadership tries its best to keep up to date on the various tribes so that we can help direct people to the guild most fitting for them! We are not a tribe aiming to just mindlessly boost our numbers, we want to help people find the guild where they are most comfortable in. Happy people makes for a happy community. <3
Hope ya'll are having a wonderful Hallow's End so far!

Hope everyone else is as excited about Blizzcon as people in Wolfmane are! Highmountain tauren, woo! But while we wait for the next expansion and our moose friends, the storyline in Eastern Kingdoms goes on. Hopefully we got time to finish it up, heh!

Not much of anything new on an OOC level for Wolfmane! We're always happy to help, and we have plenty of tauren role play resources on the website, at http://www.wolfmane.com/taurenresources
Otherwise, Wolfmane eagerly awaits to see what the next expansion holds!

We knew the general location of the Black Dawn encampment within Stranglethorn, but not exactly, nor how it was set up or how many were there and what was being done there. So the tribe broke up into three separate parties, with one investigating the heart of the camp, another finding an abomination lab of sorts, and another checking in on some spiritual disturbances near a cave nearby.
The scouting started out smoothly, but soon erupted into chaos as one, then two, then three of our own were captured. Wolfmane was forced to flee, with the promise that we would return for our brethren tomorrow.
And so we did. Wolfmane gathered up all of its strength, all of its resources, and launched a massive attack on the Black Dawn encampment. It was a long and hard fought battle, with many injuries being sustained, but not only did we emerge victorious but we rescued our tribemates and were able to bring them home safely. After burning away the remaining corruption in the encampment, we were finally ready to move on to the next location.
We had heard tale of there being another encampment within the Swamp of Sorrows. So, led by a new greenhorn, Cayde, we ventured northward to the swamps, setting up in the settlement of Stonard. There we heard disturbing tales of orc grunts going missing, and screams in the night. After learning some more information of where the source of the disturbances were, we headed to the coast and were able to scout out the next encampment of the Black Dawn. It was a smaller camp, but there we found them corrupting and twisting elementals, up to the point where they would wither away and die. Determined to stop these atrocities, we returned to Stonard and prepared to launch another attack.
We donned our armor, took up our weapons, and marched on the camp. We broke down the walls, only to find every cultist dead, their eyes gouged out. We were left in shock, but moved further in to investigate what had happened, searching for clues, any signs on what had happened and what our next move should be. In our search we found four burning fragmants, a journal, and a note describing the next Black Dawn encampment: One within the Badlands.
While searching we were approached by two posessed by the Sleeper. They taunted the Wolfmane, until one of our own attempted to burn them to put them out of their torment, and another jumped in the way. Our tribebrother was injured, the posessed killed. And Wolfmane was left distraught. Until the now freed spirits returned to us, and thanked us for our efforts. They promised to assist in the fight against the Sleeper, before fading away, and Wolfmane returned to Stonard.
But we did not have long to rest. Still there were disturbances, still there were disappearances. Finding an item belonging to a disappeared orc grunt, we tracked where he had gone, eventually ending up near the Karazhan crypts. There we heard angered spirits, and after promising to return better prepared to help them, we returned home.
But we did not get long to prepare. Our own began to disappeared. First one, then two, and then eventually five tribemates were missing. Unable to stand by any longer, the remaining tribe went into the crypts and faced challenges given by angered spirits, who felt betrayed for not being helped against the cultists who had corrupted them. In our journey through the crypts, we soothed the spirits and saved our tribemates in the process, before finally emerging from the darkness and returning home. The cultists in the swamp were dead, and the spirits they had hurt were now at peace.
Now, we go north...

As we begin to pack up our belongings, the Tribe realizes their fur and armor is not meant for a place such as the Swamp of Sorrows.
I would very much be interested in joining (Back from a pretty extended absence) I just rolled a fresh baby tauren warrior and have been looking for a home since I got back. =]
Well welcome back to the game, and to playing a tauren! We do ask everyone who is interested in joining apply on the website at http://www.wolfmane.com/ and of course check out the rules and other info that's there. We also got a tauren role play resource page if you're brand new to the tauren lore. <3 And if you read over all the info and aren't sure Wolfmane's the place for you, there's still other active tauren tribes that we can suggest for you!
And of course can always ask questions if you got anything. Otherwise, hope to meet your moo sometime soon!

I put a bounty on the former GM's husband for getting into the beta before everyone else when he doesn't even play WoW anymore.
Raton did not disappoint and smacked his husband for gold. This is why we love you, Raton.

- Celebrim Dawnsinger. You risked your life to set free posessed spirits. Your gentle soul and kindness will be spoken of amongst the tribe for many years.
- Renhuko Galeheart. You found what could be a clue to the Black Dawn's power and their plans. Well done.
- Saravae Bloodriver. You could have put yourself in danger delivering the burning fragments to Chieftain Whitehorn. Thank you, Sister.
- Seruu Flinthoof. Back in Stranglethorn, your keen eye and alertness helped to locate the dangers and protect our family.
- Skorest Firebinder. Your knowledge of the world around us helped us to figure out what had occurred in the swamp. Your wisdom may well save us, Elder.
- Tal. Your ferocity and determination continue to be great boons amongst the tribe.
- T'chiwachok Moosetooth. When you saw the atrocities being committed in Stranglethorn you gathered the materials and came up with a clever plan of attack.
- Wuyoon Wildheart. When it seemed like the posessed spirits were only going to continue suffering, you acted and tried to put an end to it all. Your decisive action and mercy granted them peace.
- Zanghif Grimtotem. When our tribemates went missing you took up the mantle of leadership and went after them to find them.

It has been too long since the Vol'kar has paid its respects to one of their long-standing allies. The changing of Chieftains came as a surprise to the High Warlord, and he never had the chance to offer his blessing to Chieftain Karanga. When the war on the Godless Realm is over, and the Dark Titan finally meets his end, the Red Viper shall make contact immediately. o7
Wolfmane would love to meet with the Vol'kar Legion again! And even if leadership has changed, we never forget who our friends and allies are. I look forward to hearing from you when the battle is over!
As would I! Always love rping with the Volkar Legion! Give those demons hell!
