(Inactive) [H-RP] The Unbound Order (Oceanic)

Context

In the wake of the Fourth War, and of Sylvanas’ Windrunner’s betrayal, Horde influence in the Eastern Kingdoms has dwindled substantially. The Undercity has fallen, and the remaining bastions of power are drastically weakened and disconnected from each other, especially with the resurgence of the mindless Scourge. Aided by the Cult of the Damned, and focused in not-quite-expunged Scourge holdings in the northern Eastern Kingdoms, these forces directly threaten Lordaeron and Quel’thalas, two of the Horde’s most important territories in the regions. However it is not just Forsaken and Blood elves under threat. The Frostwolf Orcs still cling to a harsh life in the Alterac Mountains, cut off from direct supply shipments from Orgrimmar. The Forest Trolls of the Hinterlands, and even some of Zul’Aman who have come to sympathise with the Horde since the Zandalari joined, cling to their scattered holdings, requiring aid to hold them. Arathi Highlands has been officially ceded to the Alliance, leaving the orcs of Hammerfall as landless refugees. The Horde’s position in the Eastern Kingdoms is precarious. The lives of thousands of Horde citizens in the East have been utterly uprooted, and as the new Horde Council scrambles to organise itself amid the kidnapping of major leaders, the Eastern Kingdoms has been all but forsaken.

Mission

The Unbound Order is a reflection of the new Horde Council, in practice and in theory.

As the Horde looks to no longer be bound to the will of a single Warchief, they find that there is strength in the leadership of a few. The chorus of voices that speaks from many different cultures, backgrounds and experiences is one that holds more power than a single voice.

So it is with The Unbound Order.

Sanctioned by the new Horde Council, the Order is a joint venture headed by the Forsaken and the Sin’dorei, although made up of all Horde peoples that would choose to stake a claim on the land of the Eastern Kingdoms.

The objective of this collaboration? To safeguard Horde interests in the Eastern Kingdoms and the nearby islands (such as the Broken Isles). For the benefit not just of Lordaeron and Quel’thalas, but all Horde peoples in the area. This will involve the use of specialists from military, diplomatic and academic backgrounds who all contribute to the greater good of the Horde in the East. In that sense, the Order functions as a small but versatile taskforce that can serve a variety of functions in the best interests of the Horde, without overextending Horde resources.

In the aftermath of the Shadowlands crisis, the Unbound Order has been dormant as members have been aiding the cause of the Horde in ways that seem fitting to them, be it assisting in the rebuilding of Lordaeron, clearing out Scourge from Quel’thalas, assisting refugees from the Arathi Highlands, or any number of tasks where they might be of use. However, after 3 years of relative peace, the Order has reorganised. Now they once again work to safeguard the interests of the Horde, no matter what may come.

Name

The name Unbound is a nod to the Horde’s history in the East. Many members of the Eastern Horde have histories defined by breaking free of terrible pasts. The Orcs spent over a decade as prisoners of the Alliance, rebuilding the Horde when they broke free of their chains. The Forsaken were bound to the will of the Scourge until they regained their free will, becoming fundamentally “unbound” as Scourge slaves. The Blood Elves endured near-total genocide at the hands of the Scourge, but refused to be defeated, fighting back against their erstwhile enslavers with everything they had. The Nightborne of Suramar were bound to the Legion, but broke free. On and on it goes. The Horde of the East are diverse, but they have one thing in common; they are Unbound. They stand tall together as equals, knowing that they have all done much to overcome adversity… and they’re still fighting. They are forever Unbound, and stronger together. The Unbound Order.

Officers

The Unbound Order is led by a small council of Overseers who have certain jurisdictions, but ultimately collaborate to organise and coordinate. The guild’s overseers are:

Evelandria Dawningsong - Overseer of Research and Logistics
(Contact in game - Evelandria/Clarianne/Feylandris)

Sarestha Ravelle - Overseer of Combat and Strategy
(Contact in game - Sarestha/Kaelum)

Cadias Crane - Overseer of Counsel and Diplomacy
(Contact in game - Cadiascrane/Grommashed)

Otherwise the guild’s ranks are simply as follows:

Member (IC Rank) - A proven and oathsworn member of the order

Recruit (IC Rank) - A new recruit, having recently joined the order

Friend (OOC Rank) - A rank for alts, with the same privileges as the Member rank, including guild repairs, guild bank access, etc. Alts are very welcome in this guild, especially given that not all of us use the same character for RP as gameplay

Events

Every Thursday 7:30pm AEST/2:30am PST - Gameplay Day! Mythic + Dungeons and/or Normal Raids! (Working up to Heroic and beyond as we go)
(Bonus Gameplay Day on Sunday, same time)

Every Wednesday 7:30pm AEST/2:30am PST - Weekly RP Event.
(Bonus RP day on Saturday, same time)

Spontaneous RP and gameplay happens fairly often through the week, but these are the formal, committed days.

When do we RP?

As the title says, we are an oceanic guild. For those who don’t know what that means - we’re focused on the somewhat isolated “Oceania” region, as some of our founding members were Australians and New Zealanders. For us, it was always difficult to get involved in RP as for many of us server peak time falls dead in the middle of our day at work. So many of us were seeking a guild we could get involved in, at hours that work a bit better for us.

We are of course open to non-oceanic people. In fact, one of our officer team is an American with terrible sleeping habits. But the Unbound Order will largely limit their RP to late nights/early mornings by server standards. If you’re wanting to get the optimal experience, you’ll join us for late night/super early morning RP!

Requirements?

  • We are open to all races and classes! Our themes and focus will be around the Eastern Kingdoms and Broken Isles areas, however this will not be much of a limit in terms of race because aside from Forsaken and Elves you have Trolls, Goblins, Orcs, Tauren and others with significant presence in the area! We want you to be flexible, and be who you want to be!

  • We have a discord! This will be used to schedule events. As we’re a bit of an outreach organisation, guests are also welcome, as long as they’re civil and not there to troll. Hit me up in game or on the forums if you would like to join - I’ll send you an in-game mail or whisper with the link.

  • We also suggest an RP addon, such as MyRolePlay, TotalRolePlay, or XRP. Just so we can see info and descriptions about each other’s characters. The Cross RP addon is also highly recommended, but not required.

How to join:

Mail or whisper a member of the guild! The officers are listed above but any full member will be able to direct you to an officer if you are interested!

Alternatively you can join our discord and have a chat there! Our discord invite link is:

Thanks Gwyneth!

Long story short we were getting a lot of feedback from members and potential recruits that Lordaeron Unbound, while awesome, was a bit too tiny of a niche for a lot of people to feel they could fit into. Not only were we essentially a Forsaken guild, but a good-aligned Forsaken guild. That thins out the community in and of itself. Add to that our extraordinarily unusual timezone (most of our events begin at 1am server time) and it was just a bit much. A lot of people were making characters to fit the guild, and it felt a bit forced. We wanted to appeal to a broader audience without losing the core of what Lordaeron Unbound was… so the IC justification is we’ve gone legit. The Knights of Lordaeron Unbound were essentially an ideologically-driven vigilante militia. But now we’re more of a coalition taskforce of several Horde nations/peoples with interests in the Eastern Kingdoms and Broken Isles. This opens up recruitment to a much broader range of characters than Lordaeron Unbound allowed, with a lot more racial diversity for our unusual timezone… while hopefully not obliterating the core of what Lordaeron Unbound was!

I’m a little worried we’ll lose a bit of heart in losing our niche of unusual dead wannabe knights, but I think our motives are similar enough that Lordaeron Unbound, in its way, just fits neatly into this bigger collaboration.

I think it will be just fine! Johlein will still be doing what she does best, and now she gets even more friends! This is good.

I’ve just updated the post with information about guild ranks, as well as event days and a little blurb about our Alliance-side-guild, the Hexrenders! Please consider joining if you want a cool late night experience and the opportunity to laugh at my silly helmet in person.

This sounds pretty awesome! I won’t laugh at your headgear if you won’t laugh at mine!

I actually really like this idea. It’s a unique take especially considering the Horde tends to be more Kalimdor focused narrative wise. Best of luck to you guys!

I’ve updated the post to include our headquarters - both our central office and forward base. Feel free to walk up and engage if ever you’re bored at obscure late night hours! :stuck_out_tongue:

Tonight the Unbound Order is working to consolidate their new Forward Base in the Ghostlands. As we prepare to face the threat posed to the region by the Scourge of Deatholme and the resurgent Cult of the Damned - we also must guard our borders against the Amani…

The Unbound Order launched an attack on a Scourge-controlled Ziggurat in the Ghostlands. The Scourge there were more organised than expected, and nearly overwhelmed us… But we managed to defeat them. Furthermore we’ve gained valuable intelligence - indicating that the Cult of the Damned is subversively active in the Ghostlands hub of Tranquillien. Next Monday, we begin to investigate Cult Activity in the area, and see what they’re up to.

The Unbound Order is out and about in Orgrimmar tonight, near the Wyvern’s Tail! If you’re interested, feel free to swing by

Dang, I was up late and didn’t know you guys were out. I should have tabbed in!

Hi all I’m the new boss!! If you’re oceanic Horde and you want to RP with us go ahead and let me know. Also I am awful at promotion so frankly Sara made a mistake.

How is the Oceanic RP going for you guys? I’ve been dabbling over on Moon Guard for a few months and I’ve had limited success… I’d love to get involved with something a little more active, if you’re looking for recruits let me know!

Mate we’re always looking for recruits! We’ve only got 4 or 5 regularly active members online most days atm, but we’re still RPing and having a bit of fun!

Announcement: I’m b-a-a-ack!

In all seriousness, Unbound Order will be officially relaunching in October 2022! Our officer trio got talking and decided the upcoming prepatch and temporal events surrounding it will provide a nice platform to ICly return and reorganise!

So, if anyone’s after some Aussie/NZ/etc timezone RP… the time is coming again! Watch this space.
