Shock Collective is Currently Recruiting!

Who are we?

IC:

A fairly new and growing Horde Loyal organization promoting individual growth amongst its agents, setting those that do seek to join to tasks and works well suited for their individual talents. Have a proficiency for combat and security? Our Valorborn branch will make good use of such. Interested in crafting fine works, or researching things known and unknown? What a surprise, our Research and Development branch would fit like a glove. Prefer to hunt for treasures and relics of old? Our Seekers would… seek you out. Enjoy eavesdropping, scouting, or other tasks reliant upon perception and discretion? Try your hand at gaining admittance to our Watchers branch, where you too can watch your ambitions fulfilled and skills utilized to their fullest. Prefer to socialize and contribute to the collective in less obvious means? Enjoy the company and assets of the organization as a Civilian. While the collective will offer branch specific, and branch cooperative work and tasks, there is also a focus on helping our individual agents achieving their ambitions and aims. Once an individual in good faith has joined Shock Collective, they receive full backing, support, and trust from the organization in all of their endeavors, granted that they do not impede the organization or play counter to the values the organization holds close.

OOC:

The Shock Collective is an attempt at drawing an 18+ community together to promote collaborative writing and friendship. Every individual in the collective is encouraged (but not required) to bring other members along for hand crafted events and story arcs. Naturally, we have a Discord Server where you can find a monthly writing prompt contest (not always focused on the World of Warcraft universe, for example June’s prompt is to write a story from the perspective of how you might have lived and who you might have been in a medieval time period). Further, there are channels dedicated to subjects such as memes/cursed images, politics, screenshots, arts, wallpapers, and many more. If Discord rp is something you enjoy, there is also a slew of IC channels to do so with, and a channel to post up character bios so you can have another avenue to share your creations with us. While having a focus on building great stories and well-intended friendships, if in the future there is interest we may participate in current pve/pvp group activities.

What can you expect from us?

Aside from events or story arcs lead by individual members, you can also expect guild-wide and branch specific events! As well as a monthly event with the intention to reach out to those that might be seeking a guild to join, or other guilds and groups that might be seeking an ic ‘alliance’ for co-op rp arcs and general good times. June’s monthly event will be a showcase of Research and Development’s various inventions and discoveries, followed by a drinking and fisticuffs competition, respectively (taking place tomorrow, 6/15 at 6pm ST). Although I suppose you can get drunk icly and throw hands if you want to. July’s monthly event will showcase a different branch and their talents, as well as two other contests from a pool we have collectively crafted. Collectively, get it? Sorry, you can also expect lame jokes/puns. You can expect to join the collective on your own terms (if you wish), both icly and oocly. You can also expect us to not become a mega-guild! Active and open recruitment will cease after we have a well-rounded group of interested and consistent members, and any new members will be decided upon by a case by case basis. We are not interested in becoming a community with so many members that few get lost amongst the many. You can however, expect your alts to be just as welcome as your main.

Few more FAQ’s:

This sounds really great, but would my character fit in?

More than likely! By design, the collective is intended to be as diverse as possible. However, there are certain character types that do not fit well with the intention and story of the organization, or could be unbalancing with as much. If your character does fall into one of these categories, we are very sorry but hope you do find a guild best suited for you in the future:

  • Child characters
  • San’layn
  • Dragons

Flat out Lore-breaking characters made with the express intention to maximize ego or edge. ( Lore bending isn’t that big of a deal, Blizzard has already made it so wonky, but we are not looking for obscenely overpowered characters that have neither development nor basis for existing within the World of Warcraft universe, let alone taking part in an organization such as the collective .)

Alliance races. ( Not hating on the alliance or anything, but we’re a Horde based guild. Loyal to the Horde. Your undercover Night Elf probably wouldn’t last long icly before being bounced back to Stormwind .)

Character races that aren’t described above, but also aren’t playable horde races, do need to be discussed before a character could be icly brought into the guild( Not in an effort to tweak your design, but to understand it and decide if it’s something we would want for the guild on an ic basis ). OOC membership however would be likely regardless of the outcome of that decision.

Well, all of this sounds great and I’m pretty interested. Who do I talk to about joining and how exactly do I go about doing that?

Any member can invite you to the ooc rank and can (likely) give you more information. Any further steps into the guild icly and oocly need to be conducted through a member of leadership. During the process of joining icly, there will be a discussion and you will actively decide which branch you wish your character to participate in. Alts can be designated to other branches, so do not feel as if you are saddled and stuck with just one. Particularly when inter-branch activities will take place. If you wish to speak directly with a member of leadership, they are as follows:

  • Sholtalah, Director
  • Alithyssa, Branch leader of Research and Development
  • Melirii, Mayor of our base of operations, responsible for civilians
  • Fox(In game name Cams), Branch leader of Watchers
  • Primrose, Branch leader of the Valorborn.

Hey, who’s the branch leader of the seekers?

That position is currently open! Admittance into that leadership position would be variant upon submitting an application from our template and undergoing an interview. Several interviews will take place before that position is relegated to a member.

That monthly event. You know, the one with the competitions and branch showcase, when exactly is that?

Location is variant upon the month, but each event is intended to be performed the first Friday of every month, around six server. Sometimes scheduling may necessitate the event to take place the weekend after or perhaps even on a Saturday, but we will keep those interested informed of as much! Signups for any competition will occur during the event. Prizes for winners will be had ( Nothing extravagant, we aren’t trying to buy your support and interest ).

Regardless of your decision to join or not, we wish to express our thanks in taking an interest in what we do, and for making it all the way to the end of this document! Hopefully you found it somewhat entertaining and we encourage those interested to reach out and seek more information if this didn’t cover everything!
