H Paladin Rework. Good changes missing some key details

Almost every other talent is better now. Using my 635 Paladin as baseline. If you consider a 9 second Judgement cast AND talented into Truth Prevails you are spending 160,000 extra mana per minute to do about 600,000 extra healing. Literally not pressing the button and substituting those with Flash of Lights then casting 1 extra Holy Light in place of a Flash of Light will net more healing.

Now lets consider alternate talent options if you were to not spec into Righteous Judgement, Truth Prevails, and Crusader’s Might (Since you would not need to press Crusader Strike really if you aren’t pressing Judgement). You could pick up Resplendent Light which makes Holy Light 40% more effective in coordinated M+ Groups or just all the time in Raids. You could pick up Tyr’s Deliverance and Boundless Salvation which adds another 12% multiplier on top, You could pick up 5% Haste permanently via Relentless Inquisitor or take Power of the Silver Hand though that talent is kind just janky it would still mathematically gap the other two talents on its own if you just pretended you weren’t even specced into it. Overflowing Light combined with Light of the Marty since you’ve got 3 whole Talent points and Holy Shock was buffed by 40%, the over-shield is actually quite powerful now since you would have higher tendency to blast someone’s health bar to mars with how hard it hits now.

There are A TON of things better when you realize that you’re investing 4-6 (2-3 from General and 3 from Spec depending on your choices) Talent points for gaining literally only a 10,000 HPS increase (yet again using my paladin as a baseline). That is a 0.4% HPS increase and even Pre-buff Holy Shock Overflowing light on its own usually does 1.3%, almost 3 times that for 1 talent point… In fact you don’t even need to use the Talent points. You can just throw them out because the mana savings alone like I said lets you cast 1 more Holy Light which would net you literally even on HPS without even spending the points, just a rotational change.

Like I said. I think the idea behind this rework was great however it’s lacking in execution and will play terribly. And if you don’t want it to play terribly you’re just be choosing to play sub-optimally. Which, is fine, the games about having fun… I just feel like people shouldn’t be forced to choose that for something like your basic rotation. Blizzard seems to have forgotten that Talent points should be an investment, meaning you get something in return. Regrettably with the current changes these choices offer no return.
