[H] First Aid & Alchemy Conference (Monthly RP Event)

KLG’s Research and Development group would like to invite you to a seminar on First Aid and medical skills for the magically-impaired!

These courses will teach novice to intermediate first aid skills, wound care, alchemy, and even things like “identifying common herbs that can be used to create healing agents.”

If you’re ever out in the world without a healer, you’ll be happy to know how to tend to your wounds until you can get back to a city! We will also be supplying first aid starter kits at each seminar.

Calling all who RP an Alchemist, Field-medic, Herbalist, or anything else that can be classified as “medical” without using healing powers!

These events will be part seminar/class and part convention. For example, the first hour would be a course on whatever the month’s topic is, followed by some practice of it if possible. The second hour or so would be like a convention, where guilds or individuals could set up stalls. These stalls could be for selling potions/elixirs, for information on different herbs and their healing qualities, all kinds of things.

The inspiration here is taking real-life skills and altering them to fit the game, so to speak. I’ve always enjoyed non-magic healing in RP, so if you do too or would like to have a chance for your character to learn it, please stop by! (There was a pinned post on the PREVIOUS WrA forums, which had a link to an herb guide for RP written by one of our server’s RPers. If anyone has the link to this, PLEASE send it to me, because I can’t find it now and thought I had it bookmarked.)

Future Seminar topics and ideas:
Medic Kit must-haves, wound care, stitches, fleshmending, herbs for healing, potions, infections, burns, basic first-aid skills.

I plan on keeping a google doc of each seminar for future references in RP. If you know of any great guides that could go with this topic, please send them my way so I can add them to the links above!

We had to change the event date to one week later. If it works out well, we’ll probably keep it the same every month: last Sunday. The main goal is to work around other server event schedules though so we will see!
