Guys I am really scared for retail WoW

the amount that you contradict here is wild to me.

Dont forget that the BFA beta livestreamers were hitting upwards of 100k twitch viewer counts as well.

exactly, because its new content. Classic is 15 years old it shouldnt get more than like 5k viewers MAX

A themepark has two coasters, one that is older and has been shut down for decades and a more modern and safe one. The park decides to re-open the old coaster and people are talking about it like crazy because of how long it has been. Because of how much attention the old coaster is getting they decide to bulldoze the modern and more safe coaster.

Yup, the logic here checks out. Hey did you know they make the same profit weather you play classic, retail or both since it is the same subscription? Know what that means? There is no profit motive to get rid of one or the other even if the participation rates are horribly low. You are still paying the same money to get into the theme park, so no they won’t bulldoze the newer and better version of the game.

No i saud i doubt it, at least through bc

That’d be sweet, the classic RuneScape app is great.

Classic is new. BfA is not. BfA is in a mini-content drought. What’s to stream?

The vast majority of WoW players never watch Twitch at all.

Retail will succeed or fail based solely on the decisions of this dev team. Feel free to worry about that.

but it isn’t old… it’s new. Classic =/= Vanilla. Also the same will occur when the beta for the next wow expansion drops. people interested and hyped to see the surprises in store with the next expansion. just like with every other beta in WoW’s past on livestreams.

Gotta remember Classic atm is being propelled by a hypetrain, eventually the train is going to run out of steam… and Classic will just be Classic, everyone who’s interested will have already seen enough, all those who played, already leveled to 60, etc, and/or progressed as far as they want to progress… and will grow stagnant once the phases (content patches) run their course… Current WoW on the other hand will live on, new expansions, new content, new betas. etc.

Classic is NOT new. Its FIFTEEN YEARS OLD. BFA isn’t even 6 months old. Your logic here is clearly flawed.

Vast majority of wow players dont watch twitch but vast majority of gamers DO. Blizzard wants to capture new players and Classic will do that for them. Then, they will be FORCED to dedicate more and more resources to classic at the DETRIMENT of retail wow

We know this wont work… “new players” will see a game that looks like s%*t, old, boring, etc…

Rather the majority of the player base of classic will be returning wow players and the current player base, NOT new players. So those majority of gamers that do watch twitch, aren’t and wont be interested in WoW or Classic WoW, rather most of them are interested in games like Fortnite, Call of Dooty, or whatever other current popular/cult game is out.

All the people I see dont seem to be very hyped for this. Have you seen people hyped for 8.2? NO. Because classic is stealing its spotlight. It legitimately looks like a really good patch but classic is basically taking ALL eyeballs of it.

Basically noone streams 8.2 beta rn on Twitch

Since when is Twitch the sole indicator of the game’s health? Maybe spend more time playing the game, and less time pretending to stress out over what self-serving streamers do?

Arguing about whether classic is old or new is semantics and people should stop doing it. It’s old for people who played it before, it’s new for people who haven’t. Please argue about something meaningful

8.2 is a patch, not a expansion beta… that’s like asking if people were hyped for 7.2 back during Legion, a great expansion. no one cared for livestreams of 7.2 PTR or live during legion, even though Legion is considered a good expansion.

Oh boy, hello irony.

It is “new” and shiny so to speak, so naturally there will be hype around it.

Once it is launched the hype will die down.

7.2 was a fantastic patch because Blizz was DEDICATED to its development. 8.2 on the other hand they are SPLIT MINDS. Resources are rationed and developer time is closely restricted. How can one expect to flourish under those condtions? If anything we should be amazed we got BFA at all.

This is a DIRECT result of Classic’s development.

nothign was fantastic about 7.2… the Broken Shore patch… lol you’re joking right xD? 7.2 is the most hated patch of Legion and when quite a number of players unsubbed and the forums were rampant with complaints.

Classic is “new content” for anyone that wasn’t there 15 years ago. It’s also “new content” for WoW streamers who haven’t had anything new to stream in BFA for a while. Plus which they can jump into Classic and derp around dying and get the lulz views. None of which means that Twitch viewers are going to pay $14.99 to play Classic for days, weeks, months, or years.

a time portal may take them back to that time

what classic does is take us to this magical place where the game is fun

you should try it!

What is fun for you might not be fun for others. What is fun for others might not be fun for you. I know that is hard thing to for you to grasp, but that’s the way it is.
